A Perfectly Messed-Up Story | Patrick McDonnell

My students 😍 LOVE ❤️ Louie. This book is great for sharing book trauma. This is where I introduce who is responsible when a library book gets damaged (the kid that checked it out). We had some great art come from this lesson.

Tumble Tower | Anne Tyler
post image
Pickpick

Yes-Anne Tyler also writes children‘s books! This one (from 1983 with illustrations by Anne‘s daughter Mitra) is a hoot, especially if you live amid book clutter!📚It‘s about a severely organized & tidy royal family who often complain about Princess Mollie‘s unkempt bedroom in the castle tower. But when the palace is flooded and everyone must retreat to Mollie‘s room, they suddenly find many blessings among the mess!

Kids will love this book and may be inspired to draw funny faces. Avoid inspiring creative misbehavior by reading after they get their pictures done. #underthedustcover

Happy #dinovember 😊 I saw this on Facebook this morning and I have such good memories of reading this with my son. He still sets up his dinosaurs in crazy messes when he gets inspired. I think this couple has a new Xmas book out.

BethM Sounds like something I‘ll need for my son! 3y
mandarchy @BethM it's a ton of fun, you'll be inspired to make some funny pictures. 3y

While I appreciate the message behind this,I found it hard to “read”. My love of books deemed this a horror story. 😱😂🤣 #childrensbook

mandarchy My students LOVE this book. I read it every year at the start of school. It really has 3 voices, the narrator, Louie, and you. 3y
Sharpeipup @mandarchy It was fun but I couldn‘t help twitching with each stain on the page 😂🤣 3y

I just read this 18 times to students K through 5th grade for the 6th year in a row and it's still a hit with them. I love to tell the big kids how it has 3 voices: the narrator, Louie, and the reader. They can't get enough. #rereadfordetails #readoutloud

Roy Digs Dirt | David Shannon
post image
Pickpick

A simple and quick picture book about Roy - the dog who digs dirt. Both our 20 month old and our 4 year old enjoyed the book. Lots to look at in the pictures and it is a cute story. Our 4 year old could practice some of his reading with this book because it is repetitive. He also had quite a few laughs throughout the book.

#BookReport
I got 3 books off my forecast (one way or another 🙃) and read my #readaroundtheworld book. Now I want to take a train across the Andes, preferably without the murders and cigars.

#weeklyforecast
My in-progress reads are a mess. It‘d be good to finish maybe 3. Most likely would be
1. A passage North (It‘s not it, it‘s me. But getting through it is an effort)
2. Richard Osman. Not an effort.
👇

rockpools 3. High Rise Mystery. Fun MG mystery on audio.

Woohoo, I have a plan!! Have a good week folks!

Cinfhen I LOVE this post!!!! I‘m enjoying the organized chaos 😘😘so jealous you got an ARC for the Osman!!!!! 3y
