📚New Orleans is one of my favorite places to read about and all southern gothic stories.

📚Schools and boarding school stories, especially with a magical story line.

📚Old houses, spooky old houses, quaint cute cabins, etc. Great for romance and horror stories.

Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick Same here. There is so much more to explore. We took a tour the final day and it felt some been the first thing we did!😆 If you're a history/museum fan, I cannot recommend the WWII Museum enough. 4y

Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick @OriginalCyn620 In reviewing my books read to answer your question I've come to realize that I really love the sound of Dark Academia but tend to add them to my TBR! 🤣🤣🤣 I'm going to have to take it way back to 1992. It's better than the movie.

I tend to gravitate toward books set in the past, but I also love settings filled with lush descriptions. I will even find myself drawn toward stark, desolate surroundings (Brontë sisters...I‘m looking at you! And Hannah Kent paints a very cold, stark setting for Burial Rites).

Right now, I‘m craving a visit to Three Pines...

Thank you @Simona for the tag! (I want to more purposefully make Litsy more social for me, so I plan to participate in these more often.)

My #favoritesettings are evocative and pronounced, where the author takes time to flesh out the story by creating a vivid setting. I tagged some good examples for me, but even Kill the Farm Boy (booo) was helped by inviting settings.
