It depends... I do both depending on the series.

#bookishquestionoftheweek
@BookishGirl06

Crystalblu Mostly depends on the series. After GOT i definitely prefer that they all be out 😂😜 7y
EchoLogical I read as each book is released but I should really stop because I hate the wait. 😂 7y
Debiw781 @Crystalblu @EchoLogical Right?? I really should wait but for some series I just can't 7y
Crystalblu I also think there is a difference between series like the Sookie Stackhouse books, each book being one into itself but also part of a huge story, and books with cliffhangers! 7y

#bookishquestionoftheweek @bookishgirl06 I read as they come out. Unless I discover the series late lol

Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks I usually discover it late!! 😃 7y
Bookzombie Some I started when they first came out and some I have decided to wait until it's done or there are a lot of the series to read. 7y
Cathythoughts Whatever way it happens, if it's good , anyway at all 💕 7y
[DELETED] 3803335244 I'm inpatient so as soon as they come out. Which I'm regretting with G.O.T! 7y

I prefer to read after the series is over but sometimes I can‘t help myself #bookishquestionoftheweek

Bookladylinda I usually read as the series goes along. If there is a long time between books, I will listen to the previous one again as a refresher. 7y
mangokittty I have no problem reading an incomplete series. I‘ll sometimes even pick up a random book see it‘s the 3rd in a series I‘ve never read and go, “Oh well, let‘s start with this one!” 7y
the-flashley I usually wait until after, but pretty often that's just because I didn't know about the series until all of the books were already out. There have been a few cases where I've followed along, though. 7y
See All 8 Comments
BookishGirl06 @mangokittty lol I can‘t. I have to know what happened in the first 2 before I could let myself read the 3rd 7y
mangokittty @BookishGirl06 I find in a lot of series the books summarize what happens in the others. If I really like them I‘ll go back and read the previous ones. (edited) 7y
rjsthumbelina I almost never finish a series! I don't like endings. If I never read the last book in the series, then the world is still open to me. I'm aware that it makes no sense, but I'm no good at goodbye. It's not even a conscious decision most times, I just don't get to the last one, and (most of the time) am not bothered by it, bc I can see the story as still in progress 7y
kezzlou85 I like to wait so you can read them all in one go but sometimes it's too hard to wait. 7y
minkyb I have many series that I read that are currently ongoing so I read the newest and then wait which is not fun. If I find a new series to read I must research and start with book 1 unless it hasn‘t been translated. I never start mid series. If I am lucky I don‘t find out about a great series until they are all published. That happened with Justin Cronin and VE Schwab most recently! 7y

During the summer, about a day or two max. During the school year... sometimes up to a week.

#bookishquestionoftheweek
@BookishGirl06

robinb Most, 3-4 days. Depends on work and my interest-level too. 7y
Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks Maybe 4-5 days depending on my work schedule... I work 12 hour shifts 3 days a week. 7y
Debiw781 @robinb @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks work has this pesky habit of getting in the way of reading time 😂 7y
Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks @Debiw781 it really does!!!! 🤣 7y
robinb @Debiw781 Really!!! 😢 7y

For me anywhere from a few days to to a week #bookishquestionoftheweek

DarcysMom Anywhere from a few hours to several weeks - a lot depends on whether there is a deadline to finish it. 😁 7y
HeatherBookNerd I average 4-5 books a month and some are audio. 7y
Pruzy Takes me 1 - 2 weeks. I think that makes me slower than the average litten! 7y
See All 22 Comments
LyndseyReads Varies widely. I finished two books this week: one I read in a day and one I read over the course of two months! 7y
RebL Depends on the book and what's going on in my life. I am a sow reader. I like to savor the experience. 7y
imabusybee Depends on the book, I average 10 to 15 a month. 7y
TheNextBook When I'm planning books I plan to read 100 pages at least a day. Usually I can hit that but life happens. I average 2-3 books a week 7y
Nat_Reads About a week? Unless I'm off work. Then a day or two! 7y
[DELETED] 206653737 Depending on the length of the book and what I‘ve got going on in life, a few days to a week on average. 7y
Christyco125 Average book length of about 300 pages is 4 days. I finish about 8 books a month but I do a lot of audio. 7y
TrishB Depends on too many things! 7y
Rachellynnwright It varies greatly, but on average about 5 days to a week 7y
bookloo Same! It also depends on how much I‘m hooked—I‘ll lose sleep over those and read them in a day. :p 7y
ScrappyMags 300 pages usually 2-3 days but I‘ve read that in a day. Heck I once read Harry Potter in a day. It def depends on a lot since I have chronic illness and if a book “hooks” me but I give a book about 50-75 7y
ScrappyMags Oops... pages now and if I‘m not into it I bail. 7y
Cathythoughts On " average " about 1 week. ? 7y
Dogearedcopy 😄 Spreadsheet time! Last year it took me an average of 2.5 days to read a book that was on the average a little over 319 pages long! 7y
litmuggle A week because I tend to read more than one book at a time. 7y
tammysue On average 2-4 days. 7y
GA_Bookworm07 Couple of weeks to a month 7y
GA_Bookworm07 Usually i read 4+ books. Recently its just two 7y

Just one, English. I wish I could read and speak more than one language. I'm so impressed by multilingual people.
#bookishquestionoftheweek
@BookishGirl06

ChicaReads Just one but I own Pinocchio in Italian 7y
QueenBook I prefer to read in English, but I am doing easy readers in Spanish to help me learn that language 7y
WarpedSweetness @QueenBook That's awesome, and a good idea. I think knowing another language is a great skill to have. @ChristinaLuvsBooks That's cool! Does it have any special significance? Do you know Italian? 7y
See All 7 Comments
ChicaReads @WarpedSweetness I know only a few words and phrases. IId love to learn the language and travel to Italy. 7y
Cathythoughts Only english. And it would be wonderful to be able to read a book in a different language! 👍 7y
clkbandara My first language is Sinhala. But I prefer to read only English 😊 7y
Elisa I can read in Italian and English; also German if the text is fairly simple. I generally only read in English because written Italian is very cumbersome. 7y

Yes, I read in multiple languages. I read a little in my native language, Norwegian. Most of my reading are in English. And once upon a time I could read children's books in French.

#bookishquestionoftheweek

Reecaspieces Nope just one...English. 7y
merelybookish I could struggle through in French. I would miss a lot. 7y
AnneCecilie @merelybookish I did sit with both the book and the dictionary in my lap 😀 7y
Sace Spanish, but not too literary. And I struggle with older literature. And Borges. 7y

Just English for me. #bookishquestionoftheweek

Sarah83 I try to read in two. Native language German, foreign language English 7y
Siannalyn I read usually in two languages, italian (my mothertongue) and english, but if I try hard I can read in a third one too (romanian), but I am too lazy for it, usually! 7y
SpeculativeFemale Just English for me. I probably could manage French if I did a quick refresher course and kept a French to English dictionary nearby for the hard parts, but that's more work than I'm likely to put in anytime soon, LOL. 7y

KerriNTurner Just English for me, although I wish that weren't the case. I'm so impressed by multi-lingual people! 7y
Melissa_J I can read in English and French (although my French is rusty). 7y
Jaimelire French and english 7y
Andrea4 English, Spanish, ancient Greek, Latin, pretty good with French and Portuguese, and if I really want to stretch myself Italian and German (tho definitely child level German). 7y
La_Cori I can read in Italian (my mother tongue) and English.. In highschool I studied French and Spanish too (and some Latin), so I can still understand something but it's complicated with a whole book! 7y
llwheeler English, French, Latin, and ancient Greek for me (the latter very rusty). Working on Korean next! 7y
Astroneman English, french, italian, spanish, portuguese.... 7y
Jeg Just English. 7y
minkyb Just English now. Used to be able to read Spanish fluently. Was always my dream to be able to read Anna Karenina in Russian. 7y
SpiderGoddess I've read in Arabic and English, and sometimes Korean and/or Arabic. 7y

Both are sins punishable by death! 😉 The sound a book makes when it's spine is broken makes my skin crawl.

#Bookishquestionoftheweek @BookishGirl06

ChicaReads I agree. Both! 7y
ReadingSusan Even worse are books that you have to crack the spine in order to read the edges. It's awful and tragic. 7y
