I downloaded the first book of this series for free a few months back, but I didn‘t read it until this past week. I have to say, I‘m in love with this series. This is another cult classic that is rightfully loved by many. I‘m so glad I finally read this. I‘m reading book 2 now and can‘t wait for the final instalment.

Good Omens | Neil Gaiman, Terry Pratchett
post image

Finally read this cult classic this year in preparation for the upcoming series. It was clear from the beginning why it‘s got such a following. This is getting reread in 2019 before the series finally drops. I also explored more Gaiman and Pratchett because of this book, so it was really a gateway read.

LazyDays Me too! Mine was American Gods, Gaiman nonetheless 6y
Literary_Siren You should definitely check out 6y
GingerAntics @LazyDays that‘s next up for me I think. I‘ve discovered the STARZ adaptation of it. I‘ve seen a few episodes of it, and I should finish it while we still have access to it, but it‘s so good I want to read the book first. I‘m torn. I‘ve heard good thinks about American Gods and Norse Mythology (both up soon). I did enjoy Neverwhere, Stardust, and The Ocean at the End of the Lane this year as well. It‘s been a Gaiman sort of year!!! lol 6y

GingerAntics @Literary_Siren thanks, I‘ve just added that to my TBR. I‘ll try anything with either of these names on it. (edited) 6y
LazyDays @GingerAntics you HAVE to read it or listen to the audio. It. Is. So. Good. 6y
LazyDays I'm starting Good Omens right now, because I just have to see the show, I mean David Tennant come on 6y
GingerAntics @LazyDays I‘ve been on the waiting list for the audio and the book at the library for about 6 months and still have another 6 months to wait, so I think I‘m just going to chuck it all and buy it. Hopefully I have an extra $10 when I get paid on Thursday. 🤞🏻 6y
GingerAntics @LazyDays that‘s why I first heard about Good Omens!!! I‘ll watch anything with David Tennant in it, and the stills and videos I‘ve seen of the show just made me smile. After I read the book I was even more excited for it. 6y
LazyDays @GingerAntics 🤞🤞 I'll watch almost anything with Tennant 🎉 6y
GingerAntics @LazyDays you and me both 6y
Gezemice Oh yes, this is really fun! And Tennant is a great pick. (edited) 6y

Choosing one “best” of the year just isn‘t going to happen. Discovering Sarah Woodbury as an author. I adore her Gareth and Gwen Mysteries and can‘t wait for the next one. Her spin on the King Arthur legend wasn‘t bad either.

LazyDays It is a tough choice, for discovery I think Backman opened up a rabbit hole for me. I normally just read dark mysteries/ crime/thriller. Everything else was to musy 😂 Backman helped me ease into it. 6y
LazyDays I'll have to check out the medieval Mysteries! 6y

Pickpick

I can't even right now. Sobbing. This book made me laugh. It made me sigh in exasperation. And it obviously made me cry. It's a story of love, hate, redemption, and Ireland as we follow Cyril Avery through life told in seven year increments. An absolute must read. I'm happy this was my first finished book of 2018. Thank you, @Liberty for the incredible recommendation. And thank you all for putting up with this terrible selfie. #BestRead2018
