#WyrdAndWonder day 27: #ThrowbackThursday

Wooo I caught up! It‘s a classic, so damn right I tried to make it look iconic: Thomas the Rhymer by Ellen Kushner

Why yes I do have a soft spot for folkloric fantasy, why‘d‘you ask?

(Re)reading this one as a mentor text while writing my own faery story, a prequel to Tam Lin. I‘m struggling with a lot of self-doubt as I reach the ending, but yesterday I picked up this cool message from the text (highlighted).
Will push on, and hope people love my story like I loved this!

I think I bought this because I was working my way through a cataloguing project that was all about making book prizes searchable - I also love Fire & Hemlock by DWJ and this sounded like it had similar vibes...

Plus I think I mixed up this author with Ellen Schreiber who had a teen vampire series that I half read during the height of the Twilight inspired vampire resurgence back in the day...

Moonprismpower Oooh this sounds really good. So you going to read it now? 4y
thegirlwiththelibrarybag @Moonprismpower, fingers crossed for reading next year 4y

Just an answer to @aeeklund 's question.
🤗
I don't think it's part of the Fairy Tale series by Windling, but it's another Canty cover!

Women Writers

Some of these are more famous than others, but here are a few of my favorite-unique-interesting novels by women.
