I‘ve been reading a lot of non-fiction books that have all been AMAZING but I was so ready to read something not so taxing while I was on holiday and this was the perfect choice. The pacing was spot on, I was always wondering how it would all come together, we get to know the characters a bit more and I read it within 4 days which is really quick for me! Thanks for this one @squirrelbrain 💚

This second in the Detective Kim Stone series is so good! I liked the first, but this one is even better. There were two things I especially liked about this one. First, we learn much more about Kim‘s bleak and dismal childhood and her biological family, which in turn helps to flesh out why she is how she is. Second, the villain here is evil and fits the title of the book so well. We get both perspectives of the good/bad from Kim and the 🔻

I found this to be an improvement on the first book - less emphasis on ‘witty banter‘ & more on plot. I did find the baddie a bit of a caricature though. 3.5🌟

TW: child abuse, violence, emotional manipulation, psychopathy, sexual assault, two brief mentions of animal abuse.

Finished last night in bed! What a read, so many plots and sub plots. I‘m glad I‘ve got a few to look forward to in this series 👍🏻

May finish Evil Games today (have work to do and there‘s footie on!), the new James and Silva ones will both land on my kindle on Thursday! Decisions, decisions...one of the other two may be read in between.

Oh my goodness! This series is going to keep me busy. I love how Kim Stone follows her instincts and is quick to spot something questionable. She‘s busy in this book with two separate cases and a unique psychologist. Rushing to Amazon now to get the next book! 🤩🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Highly recommend for MJ Arlidge fans!

Woke up early and spent the time with Kim Stone. She‘s basically awesome! 🤓

Thanks to @Tove_Reads for posting stellar reviews of the rest of this series, I felt like it was about dang time for me to get this series rolling again. Why not add one more to the mayhem of books and series I have going right now? Definitely helped keep my mind off what I was doing. I‘m with Kim, not sure how the mother didn‘t question her husband and his actions... 🤔😤

Whew! Talk about evil! I loved the cat and mouse game between Kim and this entry‘s “big bad.” It was shockingly “fun” and quite thrilling. I‘m really enjoying this series thoroughly.

This is another excellent Kim Stone mystery. I love getting more insight into Kim and the relationship with her team. The main villain is so evil and easy to hate. Unlike the first book, you know who the bad guy is from the beginning and the fun is trying to figure out how they'll actually catch her. Kim's tenacity is really satisfying. There's also a cute dog and a few really tender moments.

Kim Stone and her team investigate pedophile ring. Dr. Alex Thorne, psychologist, is using her patients as experiments in evil. Kim matches wits with this sociopath of a Doctor as she has her eyes set to bring Kim down. This edge of your seat thriller is well-written. Unique characters. Real page-turner. Plot with twists moves quickly. Great series. Looking forward to book 3. Recommend to lovers of mystery/thrillers. #Murder2020 6/6

Angela Marsons really is an excellent author. This is Book 2 in the D.I. Kim Stone Series and is another gripping story with plenty of tension and an epic confrontation between a psychiatrist and Kim Stone. We learn more about Kim‘s back story in this one, and how she was damaged as a result of the first six years of her life. This is another excellent book but preferred the first one more, just! Can‘t wait to progress onto book 3 in the series.

I‘ve been missing Maeve Kerrigan and Frieda Klein, but luckily I have Kim Stone! I‘m so happy that there are so many fantastic authors out there! If you have not read Angela Marsons, Nicci French or Jane Casey, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR????

Thank you Tulsa City County Library for allowing this wonderful book to travel to Davenport, Iowa!!!! 😄 I‘m really enjoying this series so far. DCI Kim Stone faces off with a well respected psychologist, who is assisting with some recent cases. Stone doesn‘t trust her and digs deeper!!!! A thrilling ride as Kim battles her personal demons and brilliantly solves the cases put before her!!! Highly recommend 💜💜💜

Weekend read :-)

Another great read in this series. I loved that the Detective was pitted against a sociopathic psychiatrist and found that storyline to be the more interesting of the two even though the other had a mystery attached to it. I loved the whole cat and mouse game between Kim and Alex.
