I am okay with this #WP25 shortlist. I didn‘t read Good Girl, all others I liked except for The Persians. I am rooting for The Safekeep to win the prize.
What are your thoughts on the shortlist?

Amor4Libros I haven‘t read Tell Me Everything, and I liked all the others. The Safekeep is my pick, also! 16h
TheKidUpstairs Ditto. Didn't love The Persians, didn't read Good Girl (and not really interested), and I'm not a Strout fan (but I acknowledge that's my own personal taste). I'm very happy to see the other three on here, definitely rooting for The Safekeep as it was one of my top reads last year. 15h
Lesliereadsalot Safekeep would be my pick from this list. I did like All Fours and always like E. Strout. (edited) 15h
See All 26 Comments
BarbaraBB @Amor4Libros Have you read earlier books in the Lucy Barton series? It‘s so good and I do think you‘d think so too! 14h
BarbaraBB @TheKidUpstairs I know that you don‘t like Strout and I am always surprised since we mostly agree on the books we like! 14h
Jas16 I am still waiting on library holds so haven‘t made much of a dent I the long list at this point. 14h
sarahbarnes I read three of these before the list came out and based on that, agree that I‘d love to see The Safekeep win. Although echoing @Lesliereadsalot that I really liked All Fours and am a Strout super fan so would be happy with any of those really. 14h
Amor4Libros @BarbaraBB I haven‘t read any, adding it to TBR! 😊 14h
BarbaraBB @sarahbarnes Me too, I wouldn‘t mind them to win either! 👯 13h
BarbaraBB @Amor4Libros I‘d be interested to hear your thought. The first is 13h
Amor4Libros @BarbaraBB Just borrowed it from the library! 🤗 13h
charl08 I've still not read the tagged - just didn't grab me when I started it for the Booker and then I got distracted by other shiny new books. Maybe I'll get the paperback and try again... 13h
Deblovestoread I‘m going to give Good Girl a shot as I have it from the library. I will be thrilled if The Safekeep wins. 11h
squirrelbrain I‘m rooting for Safekeep (still!) - it was top of my list. I‘m a bit disappointed with the shortlist, but then the longlist wasn‘t stellar to start with. I‘m still enjoying The Persians actually, more than I expected, so we‘ll see how that goes…. 11h
AnneCecilie I was hoping Nesting would be there since everyone seems to love it. I would be quite happy if The Safekeep won, I loved that book 11h
Amor4Libros @Deblovestoread I liked Good Girl 🤗 10h
TheKidUpstairs @squirrelbrain have you read Good Girl? I haven't really been interested, wondering if it's worth giving it a try? 9h
squirrelbrain @TheKidUpstairs - I have read it and it came 12th on my list, so that tells you what I thought of it. 😬 Actually I didn‘t hate it, but it was very repetitive- bad decisions, partying and drugs, all a bit depressing. 8h
BarbaraBB @Amor4Libros Exciting! Let me know what you think. 8h
BarbaraBB @AnneCecilie I didn‘t like Nesting much. I don‘t want to sound like a snob but it felt like a book I‘ve read many times before 🤷🏻‍♀️ 8h
BarbaraBB @squirrelbrain no the longlist was far from stellar. Glad you‘re enjoying The Persians. I did too - for the first half. 8h
BarbaraBB @TheKidUpstairs @squirrelbrain That settles it. I wont read Good Girl and focus on the International Booker longlist again, which is much better this year imo 8h
BarbaraBB @charl08 I‘d be interested to hear if you change your mind if you pick it up again! 8h
BarbaraBB @Deblovestoread Maybe I‘ll change my mind if you read it and love it. For now I am very hesitant! 8h
TheKidUpstairs @BarbaraBB I think I'll pass on it, too @squirrelbrain it sounds like one that could be a really good book for the right reader, and I just don't think I'm the right reader for it! 6h

The Women‘s Prize for Fiction Shortlist was just announced, and to be honest I‘m a little disappointed without any real reason to be

I‘ve read two books from the Longlist and my favorite, The Safekeep, made it to the shortlist

I‘ve just started Nesting, but have seen so many great things for it, that I was really rooting for it.

I‘m still on the wait list for two of the books that made it to the shortlist, Tell Me Everything and The Fours

charl08 It's an interesting shortlist, I've still got three to read. 19h
Bookwormjillk I‘ve only read Safekeep and All Fours. I‘ll have to look into the others. 18h
BarbaraBB I incidentally read 5 of these and enjoyed 4! 17h
See All 6 Comments
AnneCecilie @BarbaraBB Which one did you not enjoy? So I know what not to spend my money on 16h
sarahbarnes I just got Nesting from the library so agree with you it would‘ve been nice to see it on the shortlist. 13h
squirrelbrain I think Nesting should have been on the shortlist. I haven‘t quite finished The Persians yet and I‘m enjoying it more than I thought I would. 11h

Here is my #WP25 shortlist.
It‘s just 5 because the other 3 I read (Nesting, Persians and Dream Hotel) for me were just not good enough. I loved Strout, July and Van der Wouden but they do feel a bit “last year”, I read them that long ago.
I did enjoy Fundamentally and am now reading and liking Somewhere Else.
In general I am underwhelmed by the longlist and I am not even sure if I‘ll read the shortlist. Curious which books it will be though!

ChaoticMissAdventures I couldn't get my hands on the Strout but I feel like it might make it on and I will have some time to get to it. Great prediction! 22h
squirrelbrain I agree that some of the books feel very ‘last year‘ - it seems like ages since we read them! 🤷‍♀️ 21h
CarolynM You got 4 out of 6 👏 (edited) 18h
See All 10 Comments
BarbaraBB @CarolynM Well indeed! I didn‘t realize! 17h
BarbaraBB @ChaoticMissAdventures I guess you will now. If I were you, I‘d read the series. They are all so good - and short! 17h
ChaoticMissAdventures @BarbaraBB I am going to try it, I read one of them years ago and wasn't impressed, but I am s different person now and maybe I will like it! 14h
BarbaraBB @ChaoticMissAdventures Keep me posted, I am very interested in what you‘ll think in a different phase of your life! 14h
sarahbarnes Wow, you almost called the shortlist here! 😀 Adding Somewhere Else to my list since you liked it. 13h
squirrelbrain You did pretty well there! Better than me anyway…. 🤣 11h
BarbaraBB @sarahbarnes @squirrelbrain I am happy with the shortlist considering I didn‘t like the longlist much. At least they chose my favorites lol! Sarah, I haven‘t finished Somewhere Else yet and it‘s a straightforward read about being Jewish in Europe in the 20th century but I am really enjoying it! 8h

#WP25 short list prediction/hope

I thought this was not the best list I have seen from them, but then I went to make my predictions and had 8 I wouldn't mind seeing make it!

Thinking about the qualifications of the prize the book must show: excellence, originality and accessibility. From this I thought that the 6 above were my good guesses of what we might see tomorrow.

2 Books that I thought would be okay were Good Girl and Fundamentally

BarbaraBB I haven‘t read Amma, A Little Trickerie or The Artist. I might it they are shortlisted. In general I am disappointed after not liking The Dream Hotel, Nesting and The Persians much. 22h

Here we go…! My #wpf25 list in order. I‘ve *nearly* finished all the books - see comments below. ⬇️

Overall it‘s a distinctly average list this year, IMO. The Safekeep made my favourites list of 2024 - only books 2 and 3 could possibly make the 2025 favourites.

On the flip side, I didn‘t absolutely hate any of them - damning with faint praise there! ☺️

The Artist came higher up the list as it was so unexpected - I read it before the ⬇️

squirrelbrain longlist announcement and it was a lovely surprise. Conversely I expected Nesting to be my fave but I think I over-hyped it in my mind. 2d
squirrelbrain I‘ve read around half of Dream Count (and educated myself around the author‘s inflammatory comments) and, whilst I‘m really liking it, I feel that less well-known authors should be on the list. I‘ve also listened to 50% of the Persians (I‘ll listen to another couple of hours tomorrow) and around 15% of Somewhere Else - both are ‘fine‘ but that‘s all. 2d
AnneCecilie I‘ve hardly read anyone. The Safekeep when it was on the Booker list last year, and The Ministry of Time. I find it interesting that one of my favorites, is also one of yours. Ministry has faded a little for me, and I see that‘s far down on your list. I‘ve just started Nesting. I didn‘t get all the fuzz around Americanah, so I‘m in no rush to read this. (edited) 2d
See All 16 Comments
ChaoticMissAdventures Our lists are going to be fairly similar. I agree, it was fine, but not a great list compared to other years. 2d
quietlycuriouskate I've only read Safekeep (from the Booker list) and Ministry of Time. I have several more reserved from the library but I was never intending to read the whole list, and am certainly not going to oblige myself to do so now. 2d
BarbaraBB Thanks for sharing this! I‘ll check out The Artist. I didn‘t like Nesting as much as you did. I am reading and enjoying Somewhere Else much more than I thought I would. Dream Count I have on audio but not started yet. (edited) 2d
charl08 Wow, impressive as ever. I've not got half as far as you but Ministry of Time was always going to be hard to beat for me. 2d
Gissy I am beginning with the list because I‘m still in the process of waiting for the books. I guess I will read them eventually🤷🏽‍♀️I liked Safekeep because of the twist and writing style but I think it was repetitive in those intimacy scenes🙄I also think that is a dysfunctional relationship. But you never know what the judges are looking for...I think I am looking for a story like Brotherless Night for next winner 😂I need to move on🤣 2d
squirrelbrain Interesting that you‘ve both read the same 2 books!☺️ @quietlycuriouskate @AnneCecilie 1d
squirrelbrain There‘s nothing to compare to Brotherless Night this year @Gissy 🤷‍♀️ That was my favourite last year too. 1d
squirrelbrain @BarbaraBB -I think you‘ll really like The Artist - @TrishB loved it too. 1d
squirrelbrain Thanks! @charl08 ☺️ Ministry of Time just didn‘t work for me though. 😬 1d
BarbaraBB That‘s good to know. If it makes the shortlist I‘ll read that one. And the Adichie which is for free on Spotify! 23h
Hooked_on_books For the shortlist, they appear to have picked from all over your list. And I‘m deeply annoyed they‘ve put AF on the shortlist. This year‘s judging panel doesn‘t have much credibility for me. 9h
squirrelbrain I‘m so disappointed @Hooked_on_books - no idea what rationale the judges used - for either the longlist or the shortlist. 9h
sarahbarnes Good to know your ranking! I‘m still looking forward to a couple of books from the longlist - Nesting and The Artist. 7h

The Women's Prize For Fiction Shortlist will be announced on Wednesday the 2nd of March, which is just days away!
I am finishing The Persians and Trickerie today, and have Strout queued up on audio I am trying to decided between Amma and Birding for my next read, has anyone read both? Which is a quicker read? It looks like I am not going to get to all of the books before the shortlist drops, but I will read enough to get a prediction out on Tue!

ChaoticMissAdventures For some reason I didn't order Somewhere Else, and it isn't available anywhere around me, I have heard really mixed reviews and didnt enjoy the bits Simon Savidge read on his vlog so I think I am going to skip it unless it is on the shortlist. 4d
Bookwormjillk Yay! A new list. 4d
BarbaraBB I have Somewhere Else lined up as my next read (after the Persians) so I hope to finish those two before the shortlist is announced! 4d
See All 10 Comments
Ruthiella Wow! You have made incredible progress! I‘m impressed. 🤩 4d
ChaoticMissAdventures @BarbaraBB I will be really interested in your thoughts. I have heard it is a bit repetitive. But I am willing to be swayed to order it. 4d
ChaoticMissAdventures @Ruthiella thanks! I am for sure running out of steam on it. I really wish we had more time between the long and short list. 4d
squirrelbrain I started Somewhere Else on audio (probably only listened to 10/15%) and it feels like a fairly standard family saga to me. I will continue with it even if it doesn‘t make the shortlist but it‘s not one of my favourites. 🤷‍♀️ @BarbaraBB 4d
squirrelbrain I would pick Amma over Birding - they‘re both quick reads but I preferred Amma. 4d
ChaoticMissAdventures @squirrelbrain I might read some of both just to start forming opinions, are you almost done? You flew through the nonfiction list! 4d
squirrelbrain I‘m reading the last 3 (Nesting, Persians and Dream Count). I won‘t finish them but should have read enough to form a judgement. Then I‘ll go back to Somewhere Else and the two unfinished NF books! 🤪 4d

#WP25
How are people liking the list? Are you able to get your hands on all the books you want?
I am doing pretty well from the jump on the fiction side. I will not be reading Adichie due to her transphobia, but I do think I have decided to read Strout even though I have only read one of hers and found it a bit boring.

I am finishing The Artist now (30pgs left) and have started Dream Hotel, now just to wait for the rest to come in mail.

ImperfectCJ I'll likely try as many as I can. Most are long waits at the library, and I don't think any are exciting enough to me that I want to buy them. I've read one Lalami that I loved and one that I disliked, so I'm a little hesitant about hers. Adichie's writing I like a lot, so I'll pick hers up when I can. Ministry of Time I already have out on Libby, so I just need to make time for it. Safekeep and All Fours I've already read. The rest are new to me. 3w
Jas16 There are a few I am excited about but right now I am mostly waiting on library holds. 3w
See All 14 Comments
squirrelbrain I‘ve read 5 and managed to get hold of most of them (I bought 2 so far) and I‘m waiting on 1 or 2 from the library, which I might buy if they don‘t come in quickly enough. 3w
BarbaraBB I have bought four or five but for some I‘ll have to wait until they‘re published here. I will read the Adichie. I‘ve been thinking about it and decided she has a lot of good opinions too and I learned a lot from her books 3w
Hooked_on_books I have 4 in my little claws and 4 more ordered from Blackwells plus one one hold from the library. I haven‘t started reading any yet beyond the 3 I had already read. 3w
charl08 Just finished A Little Trickerie, which I reckon has a fighting chance of winning. (Based on reading two so far.) 3w
fredthemoose Oooh… the lists keep coming! I‘ve only read All Fours and didn‘t like it (and can‘t wait for it to not be on every damn list!), but I‘m looking forward to The Safekeep, The Persians, and Fundamentally. I haven‘t cared much for Strout‘s earlier stuff and don‘t love those characters, so will probably skip it. Looking forward to hearing how people like the others and will pick more from there. (edited) 3w
Suet624 I‘ve read two already but like others have said, I need to try to get a bunch from the library. 3w
Chelsea.Poole I‘ve only read Safekeep and All Fours. I am looking forward to Crooked Seeds because I liked An Island from her last year. Also started The Dream Hotel but don‘t have time just yet to dedicate to it. 3w
ChaoticMissAdventures @Chelsea.Poole I am finishing Dream Hotel today it is pretty intense - the topic. 3w
ChaoticMissAdventures @ImperfectCJ each year there are so many new to me books on this award list. I think I read there are 9 debuts this year. 3w
ChaoticMissAdventures @Hooked_on_books what would we do without Blackwells!! I just got Good Girl from them today. 3w
Hooked_on_books Nice! They have dispatched the first part of my order, 3 fiction, 1 non, so I‘ll eagerly await those. Not sure how long the shipping will take. 3w

The Women‘s Prize for Fiction Longlist was just announced

I‘ve read 2: The Ministry of Time & The Safe Keep

I‘m on the waitlist at the library for 2: All Fours & Tell Me Everything. But the list is long & they won‘t arrive until after the shortlist, if not after the winner announcement

Then there‘s all these other books to explore, some showed up in prediction videos, but other than that they‘re new to me. Anything you want to recommend?

Gissy I haven‘t read anything but I own 3 books😃and just purchased three which it will happen, they will arrive late but I‘m intrigued to read them. 1mo
Amor4Libros I‘m reading Dream Count now and loving it. Fundamentally, The Persians and Good Girl are also very good. So glad to see The Safekeep on this list! I also enjoyed All Fours 😊 1mo
BarbaraBB I‘ve read The Safekeep, All Fours and Tell me Everything and loved them all. So I have high hopes for the others! 1mo
See All 20 Comments
sarahbarnes I‘ve been interested in Birding so glad to see it on the list. And The Artist looks intriguing. I‘d second @BarbaraBB in that I‘ve also read those three and loved them. 1mo
ChaoticMissAdventures It is so hard when we have to order things and know because of that we cannot read them all before the shortlist! Like most people the safekeep so far is the one I have read and liked I read all fours and enjoyed it but I know it has mixed reviews, ministry I just thought was okay. I am excited for a few on here that I wouldn't have picked up without the list! 1mo
Deblovestoread Loved The Safe Keep, All Fours was ok. Have Ministry on my shelf will start there and I‘m really interested in Nesting and the Adichie. Off to see what my library might have. 1mo
Leftcoastzen I have Ministry on my shelf , but so many mixed reviews. 1mo
BarbaraBB @sarahbarnes we‘re twins again. I am also very interested in Birding and The Artist. And in 1mo
squirrelbrain I‘m excited for a few that weren‘t even on anyone‘s radar….who am I kidding?! I‘m reading them all! 🤪 1mo
AnneCecilie @Gissy Which 3 have you read and would you recommend any? 1mo
AnneCecilie @Amor4Libros I‘m probably gonna wait t a little to read Dream Count, I didn‘t love her Americanah as much as everyone else. Might give it a go if the library gets it That sounds good about the other 3 books, they sound so intriguing 1mo
AnneCecilie @BarbaraBB @sarahbarnes I have just read the first Lucy Barton book and has the second out now. Is it necessary to have read them all to understand this? Seems like we are interested in some of the same books. 1mo
AnneCecilie @ChaoticMissAdventures I hope my library gets in more of these. Generally after the announcements of some of these longlists, the library gets in some books. 1mo
AnneCecilie @Deblovestoread I‘m interested in Nesting too. I will or rush to read the Adichie since I didn‘t love her latest as much as everyone else 1mo
AnneCecilie @Leftcoastzen Isn‘t that a good place to start the reading? I liked it 1mo
AnneCecilie @squirrelbrain I understand where you‘re come from, but I won‘t be able to do that. But I hope the library gets in more books and then I need to some investigation into these books and find out which interests me the most. I know I have a lot of reaction videos on YouTube to watch. 1mo
BarbaraBB @AnneCecilie I don‘t think it‘s absolutely necessary but the characters grow on you in the various books so I think I would recommend to read them all. What do you think @sarahbarnes ? 1mo
sarahbarnes @BarbaraBB twins indeed! And I‘d agree with what you said about the Strout books. I do think I loved Tell Me Everything even more because I know the characters so well @AnneCecilie but I think it would be a lovely read either way. 1mo
Gissy @AnneCecilie I own All fours, The Safekeeping and The Ministry of Time, unread. I will try to read these first since I own them. I ordered: The Artist; Nesting; Birding; Somewhere Else, Amma, The Dream Hotel and Crooked Seeds. I‘m reading all comments here to see if I buy The Fundamentally, Good Girl, The Persians and A Little Trickerie. I don‘t know about Dream Count. I don‘t have a library where I can use to read these books. ⬇️ 1mo
Gissy I prefer to read first the previous four books before Tell Me Everything. 1mo

Oh goodness. Should I say, I feel a bit disappointed in this list? I am hoping to pull some good reads out of here, there are a couple I am excited to read, but overall not so much.

I am really disappointed in the choice to have Adichie on the list, given her past statements and controversies around the Trans community. I actually might chose to read a Trans author book instead of reading this one even though it is on this list.
'

ChaoticMissAdventures I am also always disappointed when a book in a series ends up here, so I am unsure if I will tackle the Strout book, as I don't usually enjoy her. I have read 3 of the books already - All 4s; The Safekeep, and The Ministry of Time. I really enjoyed Safekeep and think it deserves to be here..... that is about it. There are a few I am excited to pick up, I have an ARC of The Dream Hotel so I will probably start that one tomorrow. 1mo
LeeRHarry I won‘t be reading CNA. Or the Strout book as I haven‘t read the rest in the series. Like yourself I‘ve read The Safekeep and The Ministry of Time and I agree The Safekeep should be on the list. I‘ll be reading Crooked Seeds or Birding first most likely. (edited) 1mo
BarbaraBB I read and loved The Safekeep, All Fours and Tell me Everything so have I hopes. You make me hesitant about CNA. I know she‘s controversial but I loved some of her books. I might skip The Ministry because of the mixed reviews. All others I have never even heard of! So I will be reading reviews in my lunch break! 1mo
See All 16 Comments
sarahbarnes I‘ve been interested in Birding so glad to see it on the list. And The Artist looks intriguing. 1mo
Jas16 I will also be skipping the CNA but there is enough on this list that is new to me and sounds intriguing to make me happy. The challenge currently is figuring out what will be released in the US and when. 1mo
TheKidUpstairs Loved The Safekeep and All Fours, glad to see them both on the list. I just started Fundamentally, it's quick and darkly funny so far! I tried Ministry twice and couldn't get into it, and like @BarbaraBB the reviews on here are not making me keen to try again, so I'll probably skip that one. I'm really excited about Dream Hotel, as I loved Lalami's The Moor's Account. And I've been wanting to read The Artist since @squirrelbrain 's review! 1mo
TheKidUpstairs @Jas16 waiting for North American release is so hard! Three that I'm super interested in, I can't even find dates for N.Am release: The Artist, A Little Trickerie, and Somewhere Else. 1mo
Deblovestoread I was looking forward to the Adichie but wasn‘t aware of her statements so am not likely to read now. I‘ve read TSK and All Fours. Have Ministry on my shelf so will start there. Interested in Nesting but will see what‘s available at my library and thru Libby. 1mo
Deblovestoread And thanks for the post! 1mo
ChaoticMissAdventures @LeeRHarry sounds like we are in about the same boat! skipping the same, but hopes for others. I am going to be at my library when the doors open to try and get Crooked Seed, it looks like there is a copy on the shelf! I am excited for a South African book. 1mo
ChaoticMissAdventures @BarbaraBB I thought Ministry was just okay. I even think I liked it more than others, but it defiantly feels like a light almost romance book. So it is interesting to see it here. Variety is good! I stayed up to midnight for the release of the list and I think I just ended up disappointed that only really one of the ones I had super hoped for was on the list. I am really excited for A Little Trickerie, but I have to order it from overseas. 1mo
ChaoticMissAdventures @TheKidUpstairs @Jas16 @sarahbarnes It looks like in the US The Artist is going to be called “The Artist and the Feast“ and it will be out May 6. Which is a bummer with the shortlist coming out April 2 1mo
squirrelbrain Oh no that‘s disappointing about The Artist in the US. I‘m glad you‘re looking forward to it though @TheKidUpstairs - I‘m really pleased it made the list. 1mo
Hooked_on_books I‘ve read the same three you have and also have some reservations about the list. Especially since I loathed All Fours. I wasn‘t aware of Adichie‘s comments and will have to look into them with disappointment as I have liked her work. I actually have the latest as an ARC, so I‘ll read it but include the controversy in my review. It seems like a lot of these don‘t have US pub dates. 1mo
TheKidUpstairs @ChaoticMissAdventures that's good to know, thanks! I know it's after the short list, but at least it's not too long to wait, sometimes we've had to wait a year plus for nominated books from this our the Booker lists! 1mo
ChaoticMissAdventures @TheKidUpstairs for ones I really want to read I end up ordering from Blackwells. For now they have no delivery fee for the US and the books are most often cheaper and these tend to release sooner. 1mo

BarbaraBB This is so awesome. I have to check out all of these! Thank you 🩷 1mo
LeeRHarry Great list - stoked that This Motherless Land made it on there! 😊 1mo
kspenmoll Oh Thank you!!!! 1mo
ChaoticMissAdventures @LeeRHarry I think it has a shot, I saw it on one other person's prediction list too. Have you read it? I haven't gotten to it yet. 1mo
Chelsea.Poole Ooh! Nice list! I just checked out this one so I‘d be happy to see that make the cut 1mo
ChaoticMissAdventures @Chelsea.Poole this is one of the 2 I have read in my list! I didn't love The Echoes, but she does some interesting things with the ghost aspect and I know this prize loves some childhood trauma so I think it is a strong contender! 1mo
Chelsea.Poole Which other have you read? I‘ve only read Whale Fall on your list but interested in several others. 1mo
ChaoticMissAdventures @Chelsea.Poole I just read Shy Creatures and plan on reading Passiontide this week. Whale Fall sounds really good, something about the synopsis reminds me of 1mo
Chelsea.Poole Yes, very much like Clear. And another one I loved 1mo
AnneCecilie I would be very happy to see several of these on the list, like Shy Creatures, There are Rivers in the Sky, The Echoes and The Lost Love Song of Boysie Singh (edited) 1mo
squirrelbrain I‘m keeping a spreadsheet of Booktubers‘ predictions so I‘ve added you to it, hope you don‘t mind! I can send it to you if you wish? 🤪 Great list, by the way! A fair few are in the top 16 on the s/s but a couple I hadn‘t even heard of. 1mo
squirrelbrain Oh, and I‘m reading the ARC of We Pretty Pieces of Flesh right now. I‘m loving it. It‘s *very* Northern (British) though - even I struggled with the vernacular style at the start, and I‘m Northern, 🤪which is why it could make the list. 1mo
ChaoticMissAdventures @squirrelbrain oh how interesting! Would love to see. So curious if the ones that keep popping up are ones picked. Each year I get 2-3 correct guesses which I feel pretty good about! 1mo
squirrelbrain Let me have your email address and I‘ll send it to you. ☺️ 1mo

ChaoticMissAdventures @squirrelbrain I really only follow 2 booktubers who are into the WP and very rude of me they are both men - Simon Savage and Erik Karl Anderson. So a lot of these will be a surprise for me! 1mo

The Fiction long list is dropping in 9 days!!

Do you have any hopes? Any particular books you would like to see? Any guesses?

I am going to put out my prediction list today as soon as I can narrow it down, there are so many great books on my radar this year.

TheKidUpstairs I'm so excited! I'll have a think and see what's eligible before making any wishes/ guesses 1mo
ChaoticMissAdventures @TheKidUpstairs in general, every year I want some books that I have never heard of and wouldn't have picked up if it wasn't for the prize. I have found so many gems I really love from this prize, like last years winner 1mo
TheKidUpstairs @ChaoticMissAdventures me too. Often the ones that weren't on my radar are the true gems! 1mo
Librariana I'm looking forward to hearing/reading your wishlist! ☺️ 1mo
BarbaraBB I hope so for some of those gems again which I wouldn‘t have found without the list! 1mo
