Bailedbailed

This one was a flop for me. It felt like everything happened really fast without enough substance to make the story strong.
The fmc and mmc meet, and after one day, they have nothing but sex for five straight days with zero conversation. It was like this book was written for the spicy chapters only, and everything else was an afterthought.
Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend this one.

In this first in a series, Aurora Ascher has given us a fairly unsuccessful, derivative fantasy. The novel proves, yet again, that steamy sex cannot substitute for plot, world building, or character development. That said, I did finish the novel albeit with a lot of skimming. Although a fantasy author might be excused flaws if they are resolved in a sequel, she tells us that the next book will focus another storyline, so probably not.

Pickpick

This has lots of so-so reviews and I totally see what everyone means. It‘s a low pick for me. A traveling circus with hybrids. A seer who gets involved in saving a lethal wraith. Predictable and difficult to get invested in. I did enjoy the fierce females and to e friendships. ⭐️⭐️⭐️

I admit I bought this book because it's gorgeous, especially the splayed edges.
Aside from that, I thought it was going to be more fantasy, but it was really dirty. There were sex scenes that just seemed to go on and on, and the details 🤦🏼‍♀️
Somewhere in there is a story about two different human hybrids that fall in love.

Nessavamusic I almost bought this because it was so pretty, but checked Goodreads and it was not reviewed well! 9mo

Laughterhp I just recently put this one on my TBR. I‘ll have to look at the reviews and see if I want it to stay there. 9mo

Katy Loo and I had high hopes for this one. It was one that came so close to delivering but the author seemed to pull back when she should've pushed forward. It's a pretty book but it was an easy one to put down and pick up something else. Not what you want with a fantasy romance. #LittensLoveRomance #bookspin @thearomaofbooks

I‘m all for romance in fantasy & the books Entangled puts out are gorgeous…BUT…I like fully devoted worlds, imaginative magic systems, real stakes and/or a story I simply cannot put down even if I know exactly how it is going to play out along with the romance. All of it together. The premise of this book had potential which was not realized, everything—world, magic, stakes, even the characters—felt underdeveloped. Entertaining-ish, not memorable.

We‘re under a winter storm warning and expecting 12 inches of snow followed by brutal subzero cold. The refrigerator is stocked, I don‘t have to leave the house, and it‘s a long weekend. Time to settle in with a good book, one that brings the sun with it!

I participated in a Read-a-long with Entangled Insiders for this title.

I had high hopes for this title. The blurb, cover, and sprayed edges sucked me in so I was hoping this was going to be a title I loved. Unfortunately, it fell short for me. Too many holes and not enough development to make much sense when I finally got to the end.

I love a good map to start a new story.
