This is such a cute, cozy fantasy read.
I loved all of the characters. Fin's relationships with his staff, the Prince, and Annika are just perfect.
I loved how his familiar cat, Kraken, had a few chapters. "What's the purr?" Is my new favourite thing to say to my cat.
I can't wait to read the rest of this trilogy.
If you loved the vibes of Legends & Lattes and/or The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches you will love this as well. It's a cozy fantasy with whimsy, magic, and comedy. All the good things! It's a bit long (658 pgs), and that is why I was fluctuating between a 4-5 star read. But I went with 5 stars because of how delightful of an escape I felt it gave me. I will definitely be reading the next one. Def noticing a theme of my 2024 fav reads!
Did I read somewhere that someone has an online hack to help keep word count for word search points or within kindle?! Definitely not within my usual range, but I am loving it!! So many witch-es🤣🧙🏼♀️#hhc #scarathlon #

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (4.5/5)
I‘m a sucker for cozy, heartwarming, and funny stories, and “The House Witch” managed to have all three. I really enjoyed the characters and I can‘t wait to continue onto the next novel in the series.

“The loyal citizens of the kingdom of Daxaria described their homeland as a lovable mess.”
That may describe the book, too 🙄
I picked this up as a Kindle deal, and, five chapters in, I‘m just not sure. It‘s billed as a humorous, romantic fantasy. The style strikes me as rather amateurish, but the story is just interesting enough to keep me reading.
"The loyal citizens of the kingdom of Daxaria described their homeland as a lovable mess." Me too Daxaria. Me too. ?
Next on Kindle: Finlay Ashowan joins the staff of the King & Queen of Daxaria. He becomes the royal cook and cooks up uncanny meals, trying to keep people out of his kitchen and hiding that he's a witch. When his magic is discovered, he begins meddling in royal affairs, but soon his past begins to catch up with him. I've heard this is a cozy book, which is what I'm needing right now.
Ever start reading a book and it's loaded with so many hot words, popular themes that it feels like it was written by AI? Admittedly it had me laughing quite a bit at times as it‘s full of sarcasm, cursing and cheap pot shots. What can I say, I'm a girl of simple tastes lol. But seriously, I wouldn't be surprised to find out that no actual humans were involved in writing this.
Book #13 3.5⭐️ Soft pick. Don't know if I'll read the next.
Just starting this one as a light in-between read to top off January. I‘m only on page 2 But seriously what have I gotten myself into?! A‘s algorithm is pushing this book quite a bit. Anyone else jump on this bandwagon? It‘s going to be a wild ride!
“Goodbye, Kip. May we never have to speak again.” “You weird lookin‘ bastard, I hope you s&@! bricks!” came Kip‘s angry response at the fellow‘s back.
162 books in 2022! It's a new record for me. My goal had been 200, but I'm okay with where I ended up.
Happy New Year all!
A charming, easy read that had me rolling around in giggles at times.
And everyone needs a cat like Kraken. 😻
