Stick and Stone: Forever Friends
Stick and Stone: Forever Friends | Beth Ferry
12 posts | 15 read | 3 to read
This ode to unconditional love is a brand new adventure for New York Times best-selling BFFs Stick and Stone, in which Stick searches for his family tree and discovers the importance of found family and forever friends. Stick has always wanted to find his family tree. It's probably big and beautiful! Is it an oak? A maple? What other sticks might he meet? Stone is happy to accompany his friend on the journey to find the tree he comes from--until it gets dark, and a bit scary in the forest . . . With bright, engaging illustrations from best-selling creator Tom Lichtenheld, Beth Ferry's story explores the importance of learning about our roots, as well as the ability of friends and found family to help us grow strong in heart and mind.

This simple & sweet book is MF. It tells a story about the importance of friendship & how it can make us feel complete! Within this story, a talking stick & stone go from being alone, to best buds. This would be a great book for ST. This will enhance your students understanding & is a great teaching strategy to use for EL‘s. All you need is a rock, a stick(glue a leaf on top) and a pinecone, & you‘ll be ready to bring the story to life!

Vanvlieta This story would be best taught using the UDL principles 1.3( offer alternatives for visual information) & 2.1 (Clarify vocabulary & symbols) & ESOL strategies 4( use visual aids) & 7(help students build vocabulary files) Heres a video of the story: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=OsgBILWhk18&spfreload=10 & resource: @llanirfreelance/using-digital-storytelling-in-language-classrooms-b7ed6b3859bf" rel="nofollow" target="_top">https://medium.com/@llanirfreelance/using-digital-storytelling-in-language-class... #UCFLAE3414SP21 4y

Stick and Stone by Beth Ferry, fantasy. This book about “sticking” together is great for a classroom. This book will teach students the value of friendship and what it takes to be in a friendship. The stick and the stone in this book represent friends. Definitely a quick read aloud book. I would suggest this book when there is a behavioral issue with students in the classroom, just to remember that students are supposed to be there for each other.

Jenniferj11419 ESOL strategy 5, teach technical vocabulary supporting key concepts. Maintaining a friendship is an important key concept. ESOL strategy 15, reinforce the key ideas you present again and again. We want our students to remember this book and why it is so important, friendship. 7y

In case you ever wonder whatever happened to the blob from the Zoloft commercial, I am pretty sure he stayed on his meds, got a tan, and made a friend. 💕
