I may be on my own here, but I think the series could have ended with this volume…it is so masterfully done. Everything is woven together like a tapestry and when you step back, you can see how all the parts make a whole.
A baby boy dies. A mother seeks revenge. She knows who did it, The Lord of the Dreams. She seems out the furies to help her get her revenge. So the hunt begins.

I absolutely love the last sentence in Gaiman‘s afterword.
I‘d forgotten how powerful this volume is! And how confusing 😆 But I loved it.
“A culture that doesn‘t value its librarians doesn‘t value ideas and without ideas, well, where are we?”
I had problems following this in parts because it harks back to and ties up some of the very early episodes which I don't really remember much of.
Yay to lazy Saturdays and pretending I‘m not sweating outside in Alabama 😂 Finishing the tagged tonight and I may get two bingos this month 💃🏿 edited to tag @BarkingMadRun the socks are wonderful ❤️
There‘s still two more volumes after this one, but this one is really where the action is in all of The Sandman. I don‘t want to spoil anything (especially since I know @NikkiM5 is reading it) so I‘ll just say this:
This is what it‘s all been leading up too, the most story telling and action, the most mythos integrated, the most conflict and drama. When people ask me about The Sandman, this is the volume I always think about.
It‘s always so interesting so see Dream show how vulnerable he is, I‘ve seen this guy talk to gods and form impossible things but seeing him like this is still a sight to see
Lady, you gotta be joking 🙃 you sent Nuala off for 3 YEARS from her own home just to see if an old flame of yours still has a taste for you 😑🙄
Well, looks like The Sandman ain‘t the only thing I‘m getting done in the next couple weeks 🤷♀️🤷♂️ oh, well!
One more to go. A very intricate storyline and brilliant artwork throughout the entire series affirms this as the classic it is acknowledged to be.
Soon as I finished this last night, I decided it was totally my favourite. Three seconds later, I realized there was no way I could put it above BRIEF LIVES, or vice versa, so they're gonna have to be co-faves.
THE KINDLY ONES is the biggest of these books, and the deepest. Everything Gaiman's set up over the last 1500 pages pays off in a glorious puzzle of a story. I've read it 8 times and I always, always notice something new. #comics
Duffy wanted to cuddle, so I'm doing a little of the ol' flop-n-read.
I always forget how loooooooooooong this book is. 13 issues. I'm on #10.
I've gotta start limiting my refined sugar again since my stomach doesn't like it nearly as much as my tastebuds do, but I figured I'd have one last hot chocolate before the end comes. And of course, I read while I drank it. #newyearsreadathon #comics
I like Matthew so much that I'm always amazed at how little page time he actually gets. He was originally from SWAMP THING, right? Will I meet his pre-raven self in the first volume of Alan Moore's run? #comics #newyearsreadathon
Uhh... I put a super lowball offer on an eBay lot and managed to win... Oops! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😍😂
Of course, there's always the ladies for #favoritesiblings @Tiffy_Reads #splashintosummerreads
Four scenes from Sandman that made me #grabthekleenex. Maybe the only comic that has made me cry. Well this and that one issue of Swamp Thing. And the end of the Coyote Gospel storyline in Animal Man. Yeah, that's it. Maybe.

I have a serious paucity of #pinkbooks with #pinkcovers for #17booklove #day16 a bit of pinkish in these sandman covers is as close as I have. @jess.how
I think I'm a bit sad now. I've also realised that there seem to be some similarities between me and Delirium. Should that concern me?
#pinkcovers #riotgrams @bookriot #day13 I have a ton of red covers but no pink ones, except maybe this.
This is as #pinkbooks #pinkcovers as I could find on my shelves. I would have tagged the Rosa book but the title page was torn out (I didn't do it!) and I don't know the author's name. (My great grandmother was Swiss and French Creole, hence the old books in French and German). #novemberland #day25 @TizJ3ss
Our office in San Francisco at EventBrite has a library where I often work. The quiet & solitude help me focus. But occasionally I glance over to the bookshelves & find something distracting...like The Kindly Ones. Would you believe I had all the comics & sold them? Now I want to read them again. 🤔
Loved Gaiman's Sandman series. My gateway into comics.
