Although it has been a few years since I read The Great Gatsby, this was a clever look at the women of that novel and their backstories and motivations.

I love a book that means business from the first line!
I just started this book that tells the story of Gatsby from the women characters‘ perspectives.

The Great Gatsby, but told from alternating perspectives of the women in the book. A perfect vacation read. I love the original Gatsby so I‘m sure that part of my enjoyment is nostalgia.

I liked the idea of this book more than the actual book. I don‘t think the execution was poor; it was well-written and the characters are interesting. However, it never grabbed me. I respect The Great Gatsby and find it interesting as classic literature but don‘t have any fondness in my heart for it—maybe that‘s why. I felt like the characters were not always recognizable from the book, and I‘m not sure if the author was leaning too heavily on…

Finally starting my next #AuldLangSpine read! I changed my planned order because @MoonWitch94 was so enthusiastic about this one 😁

I am very fond of Gatsby, and I feel that Jillian Cantor did it justice and creatively explained many questions. It was fascinating seeing Cantor's views on how the relationship with Daisy and Gatsby started and ended, how Jordan started with her career, and even Myrtle's life before Buchanan. Then flipping to the investigation of what really happened the day Gatsby died

For someone who really dislikes The Great Gatsby, I keep buying retellings.

Wonderful! Compelling, beautifully plotted, with prose that flows in the most lovely way. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨

STILL catching up my blog posts… I finished this beauty last week and absolutely loved it. A retelling of The Great Gatsby that (I think) will appeal to readers who love the original and to those who have never read it, but like historical fiction/mystery.

I liked how the characters were fleshed out in this book. I saw the characters differently than I think The Great Gatsby portrayed them. I loved how it resolved. I was annoyed with the women like I was in Gatsby but I also have to remind myself different time period. (Not my dog. Just dog sitting)

Throughly entertaining Gatsby retelling featuring the ladies. Well done.
