I wanted more dinosaurs, less sex and boring politics. I found the characters to be extremely forgettable and the storyline was not very well developed.
Two dinosaur masters met in battle and then on a road possibly set by Angels. The daughter of the emperor speaks dangerously & loves the head of a religious order who‘s writings have sparked a religious revolution. A formerly rebel lord plays a deep game and hunts the princess.

Current read. It‘s quite good. As they say it‘s a cross between Jurassic Park and Game of Theones, but totally has that Dinotopia feel to it.

My latest haul of free books from work. 2 strips and 2 ARCs. All the books stacked behind are also free books from work. I decided, since I get so many books from work, and I borrow so many books from friends, and I have so many unread books on my bookshelf, that for 2018, it's my New Years Reading Resolution to not buy ANY books. We shall see how long that lasts... 🙄

November 17-30 is Tome Topple and I'm strongly considering participating. I found it about it earlier this year but was too late to participate in the last one. I've been kicking around the idea of starting a YouTube channel and doing these types of challenges would probably be one aspect of my channel so this would be like a test run of sorts.

This is a fun, romping adventure. I didn't go into expecting too much, seeing all the mixed reviews, and I think hat helped. All I knew going into it was that it had knights who rode dinosaurs. SOLD! I'm looking forward to seeing how the characters will develop in the next books.

So naturally I assumed I'd live for this book. After giving it a couple of tries, I have to say that I just wasn't into any of the characters or the story. I'm abandoning it in Ireland for someone else to (hopefully) adore.

This should have been so good. It had so much potential. All wasted on overly stilted and/or florid speech out of the mouths of wooden caricatures. I wanted an awesome dino story, and got badly overacted local theatre.

Skimmed through to see if it improved, but kept seeing the same type of stuff. DNF.

I was so excited about this book. I took it to the beach last summer expecting a blockbuster read. The premise sounded like it was tailor made for my exact tastes, and sure enough it kicked off with a fantastic scene of saurian combat... then palace intrigue... on and on with the palace intrigue with a crew of obnoxious characters who were obviously archetypes very intentionally stolen from Game of Thrones but less well realized. #failedtofinish

Sometimes your day is just so ridiculous & chaotic that regardless of whether it's 1am on Sunday night, you are going to have a beer & read about dinosaurs, damnit. Blurbed by George R.R. Martin as a cross between JURASSIC PARK & GAME OF THRONES. � How can I not read this? Sign me the fuck up. 💯💯
