William Harper has it all: looks, money, power. There's just one tiny problem-he's about to be deported. He needs a green card. Fast. An American wife is the easiest way to get one. But where will he find a woman to marry him on such short notice? Elizabeth Barrett is a full-time student, part-time dog walker, and weekend tutor. With a roommate who just ran out on her and neck deep in tuition payments, she needs money. Now. Harper just might make her an offer she can't refuse. He thinks he's worked out the perfect deal, she thinks she's signed up for an easy job. Neither of them bargained for the ride of their lives.

Despite the fact that I have only completed 3 of my books so far, I think that I am going to make the Bingo aspect of #BookSpin a permanent part of the challenge. I really love the flexibility of it, and also like how it feels a lot less pressure-y than Bonanza did (although we will still probably Bonanza again this fall haha). What do you all think? Would you like having Bingo every month, or is it overkill?

SamAnne I‘ve loved the bingo! 5y
MegaWhoppingCosmicBookwyrm I love the Bingo idea. It‘s definitely helping with keeping me motivated more-so than any other TBR tackling tactic I‘ve tried in the past. 😅 5y
Prairiegirl_reading Would you still just have regular book spin? I do like the bingo idea. 5y

TheAromaofBooks @Prairiegirl_reading - I would keep it just like I did this month, where I draw the regular BookSpin/DoubleSpin numbers, and then in a separate post set up the bingo card. That way everyone can read just regular BookSpin, or delve into some bingo picks - whatever works best for that month's schedule!! 5y
Prairiegirl_reading @TheAromaofBooks great! 😄 both ideas are fun I just don‘t know if I‘d be able to do bingo very often. Thanks! 5y
wanderinglynn I like bookspin bingo. I‘m all about flexibility and fun. And bingo has really motivated me this month. 5y
AllisonM89 I love the idea. It definitely makes it easier to decide what to read next. Two questions: 1. What was bookspin bonanza? i joined litsy after that... And 2. Would you want lists of 25 books or can i keep my list of 20 with 5 spaces to fill in with sequels or books i choose on a whim? 5y
Blackink_WhitePaper 🙌🏻 bookspin bingo please 😛🤗 5y
Scochrane26 I‘ve been more focused on sticking to books I own & Tbr because of bingo. 5y
Josee.lit.a.lu.et.lira I like Bingo, I like flexibility. Anything that motivates that doesn‘t set me up for failure. Reading is about joy! I just can‘t do monthly Bingo card, so I took the liberty to make mine a seasonal bingo card including July, August & September bookspin & double bookspin. I called it #SummerBookSpinBingo2020 5y
Josee.lit.a.lu.et.lira Plus, I do not buy books, only borrow, so my bingo(s) will really be based on sheer luck, for I do not control when the book reservations become available. I will be really happy if I make a BINGO by September 🙂 Very motivating and helps to move the TBR efficientlty 💪🏻 5y
Thousand-Lives I love the idea of bingo each month! 👏🏼 5y
JenReadsAlot I'm enjoying it so would do it again! 5y
AmyK1 I have really liked the bingo but I‘m not sure I‘ll do it every month. Maybe every other. I will always do bookspin/double spin though. And always up for another bonanza 😊 5y
JamieArc I really like BookSpin Bingo too. I have been using bingo cards the past two years to get me to read books I own. I will probably never get a bingo in one month though, so would probably do the card every 2-3 months when I do get a bingo, and stick to regular BookSpin in the months in between. 5y
ravenlee I‘m really enjoying bingo, as I really enjoyed bonanza, but I don‘t think I‘d like to do either every month. I think it‘s the novelty that‘s making it more fun, but I could be wrong. Really, I just love #bookspin and am glad you had such an awesome idea and execution! 5y
vlwelser I like it. It's definitely not as crazy as the bonanza. I would keep doing it if you decide to continue. But I will also try the next thing you come up with, whatever that might be. 5y
TheAromaofBooks @AllisonM89 - BookSpinBonanza was May's challenge - I drew out all 20 numbers & the idea was that everyone tried to read through their ENTIRE list in the order drawn. It was intense! 😂 And I think I will stick with the 20 books/5 free spaces method, which of course also allows people to make their list be 25 books if they prefer. 5y
TheAromaofBooks @Josee.a.lu.lit.et.lira - I like your summer bingo idea!!! I'm glad it's working out for you. I get a lot of my books from the library, too, so I'm never sure what's coming next!! 5y
AllisonM89 @TheAromaofBooks oh, wow! That does sound like fun! And yes, i would love to continue with bookspinbingo. It's really quite helpful and motivating 5y
TheAromaofBooks @AmyK1 @ravenlee - I'm thinking that if it's available every month, people can just decide whether they want to do regular BookSpin or jump on the Bingo Bandwagon! 😁 5y
ravenlee I think having the option every month is awesome, don‘t get me wrong! That allows for participation when life permits and basic BookSpin at other times. 5y
Gissy I'm a follower, what ever you decide is ok with me. But having always a #BookSpin and #DoubleSpin help everyone: for those who doesn't want to participate in any other activity and for those who are fast readers Book Spin and DoubleSpin is jus the beginning of their challenges. I'm still trying to do at least one row in my Bingo😂 5y
MemoirsForMe Sounds great to me! 🙌🏻 5y
Hestapleton YESS GIVE ME BINGO. I always want to read all of the books I put on my bookspin list and having the bingo helps me prioritize! 5y
Josee.lit.a.lu.et.lira @TheAromaofBooks Ok, Bonanza is INTENSE. I would not be able to participate for library and time reasons mentionned above. I will stick with a seasonal bingo approach. Thank you for the time you invest in structuring our TBR to go down 😉 (edited) 5y
Clare-Dragonfly I have certainly not made any progress toward my bingo (I‘ve barely started my pick!) but I‘d be interested in trying again. It would mean a shift in how I put together my list—I would have to include all the books I plan to read that month, not just the stuff that‘s languishing on my TBR! 5y
rockpools If I‘m aiming for 25 books (or at least 5) I‘m probably more likely to *actually* read my BookSpin! I‘ll enjoy making a bingo board each month, even if that‘s all that happens 😊 5y
TheAromaofBooks @Clare-Dragonfly - I'm the same way... I usually make my BookSpin list be books I've been meaning to read... if I'm doing bingo, it would have to be more books I “need“ to read that month instead... hmmm 5y
Catherine_Willoughby Like the Bingo aspect. Actually one square away from bingo since Sunday but its 1000k page book 😔. Will use this week to read the small books (for a Readathon challenge) I can tackle the BIG book on Monday/Tuesday. Note to Self - pick books with max 400 page count for bingo challenges lol 5y
wordslinger42 I might try bingo next month! We'll see 😊 I'll definitely do Bookspin and Doublespin for August. I skipped July and have really been missing my book spin challenge! 5y
Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick It's fun and flexible so why not?! It's an incentive to hit at least 1 bingo if I have the time to read. 5y
Smarkies I may not be able to participate in the bingo every month as I do like the option to read some chunksters in my TBR as well. But I will definitely be doing the bookspin option (and the doublespin if I can get to it. 😂😂) 5y
Sargar114 Confession: I‘m obsessed with this event, while failing miserably at my own card. 😂🤣🤷🏼‍♀️. I think the issue is my books this month are kinda meh, but still interesting and not bad enough to bail...so its a slow go. I‘d participate in bingo again though, I like that it gives me direction and I like seeing everyone‘s card 5y

Pickpick

Have been minimally on Litsy this weekend - headed to the mountains for a long weekend celebrating our 10th anniversary!! ❤️ Also (not pictured) - we saw a bear!!!!

Finished my #BookSpin book while I was there - this is a not-novel-but-still-enjoyable romance. I'm always a sucker for marriage of convenience/fake relationship tropes. There were parts of it that annoyed me, but overall good, fun fluff.

Although most of the story takes place ⬇️

TheAromaofBooks (cont'd) in NYC, some chapters are in Virginia, so I'm using this one to check that state off on my #ReadtheUSA2020 list!! @Andrew65 5y
Andrew65 Well done and a beautiful picture. 😍 👏👏👏 5y

Yuki_Onna 🎂Happy anniversary!!! 🎉 🎏It's great and wonderful to hit such a milestone as a couple!
Wow, a bear??? You are so lucky to have such beautiful nature!! The only animals we see around here are rats, sparrows, pigeons and sometimes a squirrel, if we're lucky... 😅
(edited) 5y
TheAromaofBooks @Princess-Kingofkings @Yuki_Onna - it was a small black bear, probably an adolescent, and we were about 100 or so yards away when it crossed the trail in front of us!! Only the second time I've seen one in the wild so I was pretty stoked. They are getting more common in Ohio, too, but I haven't seen one around here yet, although sightings have been reported in our county in the last year or two for the first time in decades. 5y
PaperbackPirate Happy Anniversary! 💙 5y
TheAromaofBooks @PaperbackPirate - Thank you!!! It hardly seems possible that 10 years have gone by!! 5y

Okay!! So here is my bingo card so you can see a sample of how it works. On the left is my original #BookSpin list. On the right is the way that the books fit into the bingo card. As you can see, I've matched the books with the way the card was numbered. So if I want to score a bingo with my #BookSpin book this month, I have to read either 10, 25, 8, & 1 OR 24, 18, 16, & 4, plus, of course, no. 3. Hopefully this helps make the whole thing make ⬇

TheAromaofBooks (cont'd) sense!! Can't wait to see all of your bingo cards!!!!! 5y
Catherine_Willoughby I wish I had a printer 😔. Lovely way to display them 5y
TheAromaofBooks @Catherine_Willoughby - Thank you! It's my first time trying them that way! I usually just write them out. 5y
VeganCleopatra @Catherine_Willoughby Ditto. My printer is an absolute pain and decided to stop working during the pandemic when all the printers sold out. The one I have been wanting hasn't been in stock for months. First world problems but so freaking annoying. 5y
