Jewell is one of my must reads.
In a small ocean side town a woman finds a man on the beach he has no memory of how he got there or who he is.
In London a young wife cannot get ahold of her husband who is never late getting home from work, hours turn into days. When she reports him missing she finds out the man she married isn‘t who he said he was.

Highly recommend
Alice Lake lives in a house by the sea.

A good old-fashioned amnesia mystery. A good trope to build suspense.
I liked this a lot! We get three perspectives: a man who has amnesia is found on a beach, a woman is searching for her lost husband, and in the past a crime takes place. Some of the plot I guessed, some I didn‘t. Quick read, good pacing, fun mystery.
“It is like onions. People reveal themselves to you a layer at a time. That is why you should wait. Wait until you get to the layers near the bottom. Usually where the worst stuff is. And then if the worst stuff is not so bad then you marry.”
I have only read a few of Jewell's books but have really enjoyed them. This was one of my August #TrappedonanIsland books and I finished it just under the wire last night!! Not my favorite thriller of all time, but good pacing and characters I was rooting for. I did mostly figure out how everyone was connected, but still enjoyed seeing it all come together.
In the background: my fabulous window-surrounding shelves!!
@TheAromaofBooks You‘ve made it to the island, and unfortunately you only have the above 5 books! Hope you enjoy your month of reading.
I‘ve read and enjoyed the top two, and they‘re set around water, which I felt was fitting. The bottom three have been on my TBR for ages, so I‘m looking forward to your thoughts. 💙

For #IForgotDay here are seven books from my GoodReads #read shelf where characters suffer from amnesia or memory loss, including one trilogy & a separate book from Kerry Lonsdale who seems to enjoy the trope. I am sure there are more but I seem to have forgotten about them!
🤕😉😆
I love these suspenseful, complex mysteries with characters I can root for. The audiobook narrator has the loveliest British accent. Alice, a single mom of three, finds a man on the beach near her home with memory or identification. Lily, a 21-year-old newlywed‘s husband is missing. I couldn‘t help trying to figure the story out, but I was so far off and genuinely surprised. I appreciate how the author concluded the story too. #MountTBR
A coworker handed this to me three months ago. She kept asking me about it, so before it became really embarrassing I finally read it. A lovely day off, lots of bed and couch reading, and I‘ve finished it. A light Friday read.
Another good read from Lisa Jewell (seems like I‘m just reading her non stop). I really liked this one, a mystery wrapped up in a kind of love story with a great ending.
Alice, mother of three, finds a strange man on the beach outside her house in a 'fugue state', a temporary loss of memory. A grisly story is slowly emerging as he's regaining his memories.

Another fantastic book by Lisa Jewell. I‘m trying to save some so I don‘t run out of books by her to read, but after seeing she has a new one coming, I immediately delved into this one.
Amazing story that completely sucked me in. I could kind of see the ending coming, but it was so satisfying. Her characters are always so well written and so realistic.
Another god book from Jewell. Likeable main character and good character development overall. A little slow to start but good twists and an enjoyable read
My (mostly) navy blue cover for The 12 Colours of December Day 1! It was harder than I expected to find a cover that was navy blue 🤨. 10 points #merryreaders #wintergames2020
It took me a minute to get into this book. Once I did though, I stayed up until it was finished. This is my second Lisa Jewell book and I am really liking her!

Lisa Jewell is one of my favorite authors. I read and loved this one.
Another brilliantly twisted book from Lisa Jewell. 💙 I loved it!! @TheAromaofBooks #BookSpinBingo
I ended up liking it! It was just a really slow start. The end was worth it though. I probably looked like a crazy person screaming NOOOOOOOO all the way down 376 this morning. 🤯
Panda and I don‘t know how we feel about this book yet. I expected some kind of mind f*€% based on reviews. Maybe I just didn‘t get there yet... I do really like Alice though.
⭐️5/5⭐️
This was such a quick read, and I enjoyed every minute of it!
I kind of predicted how this story was going to end towards the beginning of the book, but there were still some little plot twists that threw me off. Such a sad, twisted, yet intriguing story.
For a light read, it wasn‘t bad. Alice finds a man on the beach in the rain and he has no idea who he is. Lily‘s husband doesn‘t come home one day. Is there a connection? There were lots of twists and turns that kept me guessing. A very unbelievable story but still entertaining.
My happy place 😁 and I‘m enjoying this book, just hoping the ending doesn‘t disappoint 😬 I almost feel guilty sitting here reading as the hubby attempts to build some sort of deck around our pool. He did ok on the bar so here‘s hoping 🙏🏻🤞I‘ll just supervise
I started the day on this couch reading one book and I‘m ending the day laying here reading another. What a wonderful Saturday! Update - finished the book. Crazy story - but great characters and hopeful mixed in with the tragic.
Not been very good at keeping Litsy up to date but will try to get back on track! This will be the next book keeping me entertained in lockdown. ‘Then She Was Gone‘ had me hooked so hoping for the same from Lisa Jewell here 📚
‘Tis true. My TBR pile is growing lately!

This book was only maybe 2 stars for me. Not great, but not terrible. There were a few holes in my opinion. The rest of the book club really enjoyed it so maybe I‘m too critical.
2 points - book read and participation
@Stacypatrice @Lovesbooks87 Thank you so much for the #litsylove @IndoorDame thank you for the book can‘t wait to read it.
I‘m not sure how ‘a person goes missing, elsewhere a stranger washes up on a beach with no memory‘ has become a genre, but this is at least the third of those that I‘ve read. This one had a third subplot running through it as well which kept you guessing as to just who everyone really was. I don‘t think this will be winning any awards, but it was exactly what I wanted to read in bed when I was sick last week. Fast paced, and satisfying.
