🎧 Not my genre but wow, good book! I did not see that ending coming! Gemini thief! Thea‘s determination!
Quick, easy read with a decent amount of thought provoking scenes.
That castle?! LOL crazy interesting!

Today‘s book is based on (true crime) the Gemini Thief, a serial kidnapper who abducted three boys on June 1st every year for several years and terrorized Tennessee. 368 p, 4 ⭐️ Anyone can join in the readathon
The June Boys is one of the best YA mystery books I've read so far. I just happened upon it while browsing and gave it a shot. I have to admit I thought I knew who did it but I was wrong. I really like the mysteries like that. I'm glad I listened to the author's notes on this book afterwards. I was confused why Aulus called his letters The Elizabeth Letters. I had just assumed they were for his cousin Thea.
Spending the evening listening to The June Boys and working on my diamond painting. Perfect evening 💕
Well, four and a half hours later my closet is 100 articles of clothing lighter, and the boys are sad that they don‘t have a mountain of clothes to cuddle into. 🐈⬛🐈⬛ I finished one audiobook, and made a decent dent into the tagged book.
The month of June is usually filled with the excitement of summer vacations and time with friends; however, in Tennesse, parents of boys fear the month of June. The Gemini Thief kidnaps three boys on June 1st and releases them on June 30th of the following year. The boys are always returned and never harmed. The Gemini Theif could be anyone-your neighbor, your teacher, your friend, and even your own family member.

I don‘t know what I was expecting, but I wasn‘t expecting what I got, and I loved it. For some reason I had it in my head that this was going to be a fantasy. So i was really surprised when it was a modern day kidnapping and the mystery of where did they go and who took them. Them is the June Boys. On June 1 every few years, 3 boys are taken. They are released a year later.

I listened to half and then gave up because a) it is a super slow burn, almost agonizingly so, and b) when I started listening to it, I didn‘t realize it was published by a Christian publishers, and Christian fiction just isn‘t for me, and the God references just weren‘t working for me - sorry - maybe other people will love this one
When Thea's cousin Aulus comes up missing she wonders if he is part of the June Boys who the Gemini Thief has taken captured. As the mystery starts unfolding Thea starts to feel like maybe her dad has something to do with it. Thea will do anything to find out who has taken her cousin.
The June Boys is my second 5 star read this year! It‘s a fantastic YA mystery. Every few years The Gemini Thief abducts a few young boys in Tennessee on June 1 and returns them on June 30 the following year. Thea is determined to find her cousin, Aulus, after he becomes one of the thief‘s June Boys. Thanks to @ThomasNelson for the ARC! #TheJuneBoys
This book grabs my attention. It's part Maze Runner, part Lost City of the Monkey Gods. More of a dark or masculine cover to catch the reluctant readers.
Josh said I could buy it because it has a key on the front (Keys are his hobby).
