This story is taken place in France in 1242, to many readers is hard to wrap their heads around the idea that time existed back that far. This book has a little more violence since it has demons and dragons in the stories. This book is better for an older more mature audience. It is fun to read from a different time stand point and country because many stories today are all based in the U.S and just a couple years ago.

This book is speculative fiction. This book would be appropriate for high schoolers to read. This story takes place in the time era of 1242, which I think many younger readers would not be able to grasp. Three characters, Jeanne, William, and Jacob all have different powers and they have to work together to use their powers to fight off demons and dragons.

The Inquisitors Tale by Adam Gidwitz is a book set in 1242. Travelers come to an inn and start to tell stories about three children. Their adventures take them through France and through many dangerous situations. This Historical fiction book follows their journey battling dragons and escaping prejudice.

The adventures of 3 children, a peasant girl, a young monk, a Jewish boy, and a Holy greyhound is told by travelers at a French inn. Set in medieval France. It‘s not middle-grade, but not quite YA. I actually felt it was a bit slow and didn‘t care for the style of the illustrations. I think it would definitely translate well in film. 2/5⭐️s

The Inquisitor's Tale is a fictional story set in Medieval France which follows the lives of three very different kids with three very different backgrounds, all of whom have mystic powers. What makes this book so different from others I've read before is the way its formatted and expressed. you're told bits and pieces of the story from different customers in an ale house, and each of these tales add up to the full story of the children.

The illustrations are lovely and the story discusses a lot of educational aspects like history and religion.

The Inquisitor‘s Tale is a medieval story set in France. It tells the story of how 3 children with magical abilities meet and become close. It is funny and swift. It‘s interesting how it bring it facts from the actual time period to include in the story, like King Louis of France about to wage war.

❤️❤️❤️ this book!! Really sweet and then also gruesome sometimes?? Almost middle grade but just a touch too much probably (I found it in the YA section)

Medieval history, magical kids and a dog, a lot of discussions of religion (didn't expect that but didn't mind it), and lovely illustrations lining the pages

I think this would definitely be an interesting book. Depending on some things, it may even be good to read aloud to the class or offer as an independent book.

This sounds like it would fit well into a diversity lesson or social studies lesson. This is a good way at a young age for books to expose kids to what prejudice is and what justice is.

The Jewish boy in the story can heal any wound. I‘m sure he was appreciated in the kingdom.

Modern fantasy, 2016. Story about three travelers, Jeanne, Jacob, and William. They all have different strengths and abilities but become friends. Journey of them being chased through France and they work together to survive.

This book is about an imaginary realm with 3 christen. Jeanne a peasant girl has visions of the future; William, a young monk with supernatural strength;and Jacob, a Jewish boy who can heal.

That thing where you‘re reading a book set in the Middle Ages and you geek out because Chrétien de Troyes shows up and sings an epic ballad but then you get depressed because it can‘t be the same Chrétien because the book is set in 1242 and he died in the late 1100s.

Can I just do a 39 day audiobook challenge? These are my JAM!!! With that said, don‘t take this recommendation lightly— The Inquisitor‘s Tale is an EXCELLENT audiobook. It‘s kid friendly, but adults will love the woven tale just as much. Like on par with Harry Potter. Yeah, I went there. #Day7 #30DayBookChallenege

I‘m reading this for Battle of the Books with 5th graders at my school. Today while reading during lunch I both pumped a fist for victory and hugged the book to my chest for feels! It‘s so so soooo good, and I can‘t get over how gorgeous this book is!

Love this book!! It‘s got a great style and such a fabulous story wrapped up inside.

I‘m confused by this #newberyhonor book. On the one hand, I‘m really enjoying it personally. On the other hand, I‘m having trouble deciding who I would recommend it to at my library. Parts are very violent, in a cartoonish & yet still explicit way, and there is a ton of talk of ale— historically accurate but still excessive for most kids. And then there‘s an entire chapter about a farting dragon. 🤷‍♀️

But I‘m having a blast. Plus the beer is 💯

This just might migrate to the top of my physical book summer reading pile. I LOVED the Grimm series, so when I found this I immediately gave Amazon Prime a little two-day exercise and procured myself a copy.

I‘m returning to some of the books I bailed in when I was pregnant, restless and unable to focus on reading for long. This was a wonderful start.

This was such a fun read! Just read it! Very suitable for adults and kids alike!

I read 15 books in January! That might be a new record! My favorites were THE INQUISITOR‘S TALE by Adam Gidwitz and THE ENGLISH WIFE by Lauren Willig.

This book was weird AF for a kid's book. It was a mix of historical fiction and I guess Christian or religious fiction for kids. It was kind of all over the place. The way that the story was told was interesting but I think it was too much for the plot, if that makes sense. Readers learn what happens through secondhand accounts from various random people in a tavern which would be cool, if the story wasn't so weird. Idk about this one...

Without stretching the interpretation for an #OccupationInTitle too much I've got only two books to suit this tag, one of them my current read, but both are set in the Middle Ages. One in France, one in England. Both filled with words that show a deep understanding of humankind. Is there a better reason to #Fallintobooks ?
