The last two classes for my certificate program started this week, so I'll be spending a lot of quality time with this book over the next 10 weeks!

The University of Chicago is trying to get me to turn 💵into 📚 It‘s a sale! Online too.

wanderinglynn I got one too! I don‘t know how I got on their mailing list. But I‘ve already flagged a number of pages. 😆 4y
Leftcoastzen @wanderinglynn I‘ve actually ordered from them , but since it only has my first initial, they must have purchased a magazine address list. 4y
Crazeedi Oh wow this looks dangerous 4y

A lot of my editorial life was spent explaining to non-native English speakers what a comma HERE rather than HERE actually meant. Thank you, old friends, for helping me sound smarter than I am when I did it.

A little light reading for the War Doctor and me 😁💪🏼

Texreader Now that‘s a good book! 7y
julesG Light reading Hermione Granger style? I have that tome somewhere, too. But I am not going to buddy read with you. 😝 7y
rabbitprincess @Texreader It sure is! @julesG Haha I'm not intending to read it cover to cover. This is more of a "flip through to try before you buy" kind of borrow ? 7y

Guys I managed to come out of a book store without a fun book for myself! (CMS doesn't count. That's for my business). 💪

Louise How did you do it? Horse blinders? 😂🤣😂🤣 7y
cdreincarnate @Louise Just stronger than normal will power, keeping in mind that the library is a thing and how much I was already spending. I think buying the CMS helped. 7y
Louise Good strategy! "The library is a thing"! ??????? 7y

Oh dear. I'm at my desk in my (home) office, so the book closest to me is the CMS! 😂

Thanks @Liberty for the #funfridayphoto prompt!

As you read your books, remember those of us who work hard to make those books as good as they can be. For the next couple of months I'll be busy editing the books you'll be reading in the fall. Hope I can find the time to read for fun too #AmEditing

BethFishReads @MrBook all well used -- almost every day 😊📝🖍 8y

Megabooks 👍🏻👍🏻 I almost went into scientific technical writing, but instead ended up in research with a some writing. Has cut down on my reading a bit, and I do way more audiobooks now. #relatable 8y
hollytucker I am in perpetual awe of my copyeditor. I've been assigned the same one for the last two books. Oh the difference she has made! (I sent her a care package from France during the holidays, so grateful) (edited) 8y

I am interpreting #mostreread as most consulted. I use the Chicago Manual of Style A LOT. I have to admit, I miss the 15th edition. #FeistyFeb #CMOS @RealLifeReading

TheWordJar I loooooved CMOS 15! Probably because it was the edition I first started editing with. My copy is completely flagged up! I still have it...couldn't bear to part with it when I had to get the 16th. 8y
ReadosaurusText @TheWordJar That is such a good point! I started editing with 15, too, and that is the edition I used in all my copyediting classes. I still have my 15th edition, too! I keep it at home, while 16 is at work. 😃 #CMOSnostalgia 8y
