Very enjoyable. A young woman's survival story in Civil War Missouri. Both gritty and romantic.

This one looks good. I will try it.

#CuriousCovers Day 4 #Horse. I loved News of the World and picked this one up shortly after reading it but it still sits on my paperback shelf.

Thought this was a marvellous book. Adair's life is changed completely when a Union militia take her father prisoner. She faces terrible hardship but is never less than a compelling character in near apocalyptic times.

This is only the second book by Jiles I've come across. I want to read everything she's written now...

Loved this historical fiction. Jiles writing is so natural it feels like she over heard the conversation.
