This was a quick read. I liked the first one as well; it follows Goldie, who is an amateur detective, on mysteries. It‘s a little like a diverse Nancy Drew. Goldie is a POC and LGBT and it‘s all very fun and wholesome. This volume Goldie and her friend find an astronaut on the beach and all the sudden her friend is missing too! A good story and a good message. Appropriate for younger readers too.

Still so much fun! This time Goldie & Cheryl fins a woman washed up on the beach and need to figure out who she is... but they have a fight and need to make up as well. #scarathlon #teamslaughter #bookspinbingo 16 pts

Absolutely loving that I‘m reading this for a creative writing student I mentor. It just doesn‘t feel like work, and she was so excited to read this next volume.

Another good volume.

Just as good as the first volume! The story was a ton of fun and it was great to see more of the characters I already loved. I look forward to reading more and still highly recommend it!

These are great preteen/YA graphic novels. Nice and clean and quick!

Another great mystery! Astronauts, beauty pageants, FBI, & a fight between friends have Goldie not only trying to solve the mystery but to also make things right between her & her BFF. Nancy Drew's got nothing on Goldie Vance. Now, I've got to get to the next mystery!

Ha! Lots of suspended disbelief here but still super cute. The characters are interesting and should make for good tv, so i look forward to seeing how that goes. Mermaid mom and hotelier dad in space race age Florida is just 💯 #mommyreads #comics #middlegrade

Not as good as volume 1. Definitely not bad enough to not want to read more. This one was just a little slower and not as interesting. And I felt that the characters were more subdued. I am hoping volume 3 is more intriguing!

I'm still not reading much so I thought I would try some of my comics backlog this weekend.

I really like the characters but I thought the plot line was overly wackadoodle. I'm definitely still looking forward to volume 3, though.

Another great volume! We get more of Goldie's mom (which I LOVED), more of Cheryl (yay space nerds!), and even a romance for Walter. I just wished for more Diane (they're so cute) though we get more backstory on her. All in all, still love this series and can't wait for volume 3! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Got this last month on my kindle. Goldie Vance and her best friend find an unconscious woman in an astronaut suit on the beach, and the games begin. This series continues to be a delight, with lovable characters and a playful plot line, though it got just a hair darker than the last volume at the end. It was able to lean in to the suspense without unbalancing the lighter elements, and I loved it. Can't wait for the next one!

Continuing the theme of checking out ALL THE BOOKS for my 10 day vacation, I loaded my Hoopla with a bunch of comics I've been meaning to read.

If I get one of these read I'll be happy.

I love this series. It takes place in a practically utopian version of the 60's... in which a bi-racial teen girl in a coastal FL town can sleuth it up and flirt with girls to her hearts content. Sleuths best friend dreams of joining NASA and this is not considered out of reach. Adults listen and treat teenagers like people. There are female FBI agents (the real bureau didn't accept women till the 70's). I want more Goldie Vance and her world.

Goldie is a piece of work and I think she's freakin' adorable! She's also smart and fierce. If you loved Lumberjanes and/or Veronica Mars, you'll love this series.
