Hysterical!
Hysterical!
In my mind, I had every right to behave how I wanted. It was the cop's job to try and stop me and it was my job to try and get away. We were all just playing our roles.
This was a much-needed dose of humor after reading Still Alice, a very sad story. I smiled, I chuckled, I laughed as he detailed his stories in a very humorous and light-hearted way. Laughter is often the best medicine.

1. A Bad Idea I'm About to Do, King Henry IV, 32 Candles, Spinning Silver
2. paperback is my favorite, but I'll read in any format! 😍📚😍
3. I always used to read every. single. word. If it was assigned, I read it, always afraid that if I skipped something, that would be the part that was on the test. 🤨 Now, I'm trying to be better about bailing on books I'm not enjoying- I won't be tested on them, lol!

Getting back to my #NewYearWhoDis list! @monalyisha @Maria514626
This was an entertaining read! I get the impression that Chris Gethard has lived a fairly mundane life, but he sure is a great storyteller. If you don‘t like self-deprecating humor, this is a book to avoid, but if you like listening to your best friend ramble on about absurd things that have happened to them in their past - that‘s kind of what this book feels like!
I am home now and reading a chapter about Chris Gethard‘s dream of becoming a pro-wrestler that if I didn‘t know better, I would have assumed my husband wrote it. #catsoflitsy
update: ok the chapter has a much different ending than my husband‘s.
I am starting this now! I‘ve never seen Chris Gethard‘s stand-up...maybe I should if I‘m getting as far as reading his book? But I‘m addicted to his podcast called “Beautiful Anonymous” which is just random people calling him anonymously to talk about whatever they want. If you enjoy raw, honest, and deep conversations, general eavesdropping, or just like listening to average people talk as I do, seriously, this is your podcast.
“The first time I saw the moped was one morning when I looked out my window to see Kuzo doing donuts on our front lawn. A moped is a motorized bike that can be run either by engine or by peddling, making it the ideal mode of transportation for lunatics.”
One hour into this #audiobook. Oh my goodness. It‘s hilarious! Like David Sedaris, he tells weird, wonderful and sometimes horrifying stories in a matter of fact way. It might not be the best audiobook, even though the reader is very good. You really need to pay attention or it isn‘t as funny. Kind of like half paying attention to Arrested Development. 😄
