Pickpick

I think Rashomon is a fascinating story to examine, even if it wasn't my favourite for pleasure reading. The descriptions were golden and the morals vs survival plot was interesting. Let me know what you thought. You can read my full review in the link below.

Our latest #litereads selection is Rashomon by Ryunosuke Akutagawa, the classic short story that inspired the title of the classic Japanese film (although it was a different Akutagawa story to inspire the bulk of the plot of the movie). You can find a link to read the full story in the full article below. I hope you enjoy the story. Be sure to let me know what you think!

I‘m not very good at doing TBR lists - I‘m more of a mood reader. However I am reading the full set of 50 Penguin Moderns this year, one each week. Here are the 4 books on the list for February.

Mehso-so

I am attempting to include classic books from other cultures as well as British and American books. I struggled to gain meanings from some of these short stories and others I throughly enjoyed. I liked The Martyr and In a Grove best. Has anyone read other classics they enjoyed? Recommendations are always appreciated! #Rashomon #RyunosukeAkutagawa

Nothing better than a good book and a cute companion ;) I've read Rashomon a week ago and I enjoyed most of the stories, especially "hell screen". Since I read it, I'm thinking nearly every day about this story.
