I have no desire to ever read the #Bridgerton novels, but I love the series. This is the filming location of the dress shop, they use the interior as well. Right now, it‘s actually deli right in the center of #Bath, next to the big #Abbey. Bath ended up being a wonderful highlight of my trip to #London!
The second season of Bridgerton was a bit more different than the book, but it stuck to the most important parts. I like the book better, of course, because there‘s so much more depth to it. Kate and Anthony‘s relationship is much deeper and passionate in the book. I may have to put off the series until I finish the books. #SeriesLove2024 @Andrew65 @TheSpineView
He would speak in a language that only your heart will hear
I didn't like this one as much as the first.
I found it a little slower. I did really like Kate, Anthony, not so much. I didn't find him very likable.
I can't wait to read the other books, though. They are entertaining for sure.
Definitely a series that needs to be read in order to fully grasp what is happening but it does appear that the show is quite close to the books so far, though I appreciate the diverse casting that isn't reflective of the book.
Already watched the television series, but enjoying this title while walking on the treadmill.
Downtown Abbey meets rom-com.
I was so pleasantly surprised!
I was delighted by the banter, the antics and the chemistry between the main characters. The dialogues and monologues were witty and so charmingly written. I didn't expect the characters to have so much depth and to experience also growth through the story.
It seems I fell for a new addiction
My Illumicrate Bridgerton set came, and it's just so pretty!
I liked the book. There are better scènes in the book that could have been used in the Tv serie.
I really like how Julia Quinn writes. She makes every part worth reading
watched: march 14-19, 2023
though the start was a tad slow, and though it was nothing like the netflix series, i really enjoyed this book. i love that you don‘t know who whistledown is yet. i also adore kate and anthony. i love their love, and their slow burn. it‘s love that makes you appreciate life, and i think their honesty with each other and love is beautifully written. reading this book made me want to read the rest of the series!
“Was it possible to fall in love with the same man over and over again, every single day?”
-Chapter 22, Page 410
this. it‘s all i really aim for in my hopeless romantical adventure to find my person. to share a love so strong you know it‘ll never run out. ugh.
“I think the human heart must be stronger than we could ever imagine.”
-Kate Sheffield, Chapter 22, Page 408
“It means that love isn‘t about being afraid that it will all be snatched away. Love‘s about finding the one person who makes your heart complete, who makes you a better person than you ever dreamed you could be. It‘s about looking in the eyes of your wife and knowing, all the way to your bones, that she‘s simply the best person you‘ve ever known.”
-Anthony Bridgerton, Chapter 22, Page 407
“And even if she did fall in love with him— well, she‘d simply have to keep it to herself. There was really nothing else to do.”
-Chapter 15, Page 286
ah yes, secret love for fear it is unrequited. something i found oh so special about this love story is how long it took for them to bring their deep feelings into their reality
“A body in motion tended to remain in motion, and she was afraid that if she stopped, she might do something really stupid, like cry.”
-Chapter 15, Page 277
“And then there was Kate Sheffield. The bane of his existence. And the object of his desires. All at once.”
-Chapter 12, Page 219
“There is nothing like a spot of competition to bring out the worst in a man— or the best in a woman.”
-Lady Whistledown, Chapter 11, Page 196
“Men are contrary creatures. Their heads and their hearts are never in agreement. And as women know all too well, their actions are usually governed by a different aspect altogether.”
-Lady Whistledown, Chapter 9, Page 162
"I know!" Mary patted het arm. "Of course I know. It's just that when you agree to be the mother to a child you haven't born, your responsibility is twice as great. You must work even harder to ensure that child's happiness and welfare."
Julia Quinn I wish I could say that looking into your eyes : You are a GENIUS!
I will be back to review it because right now I am in awe.

February 2 #LoveAthonReadingPrompts Enemies to Lovers inroads this a few years ago, and I remember it being good. @StayCurious @Clwojick
a very good book. good for those who like enemies to lovers. i love the bridgerton books for offering both povs and seeing each other fall in love :)
If you told me a Romance would top my #2022ReadingBracket I probably would have laughed but here we are. I've fallen hard for the Bridgertons and feel like they may show up on the 2023 list as well!
Speaking of.....is there a 2023 reading bracket already created? This is so much fun and I'd love to do it again! I could make my own if need be. I forgot who made this one so I can credit them
Didn‘t really care for this one. I felt like it was the same story with different characters names. I liked the Netflix version better LOL
The caught in a compromising position, forced to marry, but really we are deeply in love thing doesn‘t work for multiple books.
The characters are really well developed either.
I am my best self when I am reading a book. I wonder if there is someone else out there who feels the same way. Books liberate me. Books make me feel that I am enough. Books make me feel that I have a purpose. For some, it‘s just paper; for me, it‘s everything.
I‘ve read 200 pages of the #viscountwholovedme and I started it yesterday night 📚👩🏻🏫💕
Meh. I thought the 2 main characters were too…not dramatic, but…too much with their fears/phobias. But then again, I haven‘t had their traumatic experiences.
I knew I was going to love this book because I was obsessed with Anthony since I saw season 2.
Love both Anthony and Kate, they were such a fun couple to see.

The Murder at the Vicarage (4.5⭐) was my pick for Aug.
In full transparency, I had two 5⭐ reads in Aug that I'll tag below. One was nonfiction and one was a GN. To stay consistent I chose a novel to compete in the bracket even though it wasn't my top Aug pick.
Pitting a GN/nonfiction against a novel is too tough for me as they are too different. Incomparable IMO.
The Viscount continues to reign supreme! 👑

“Was it possible to fall in love with the same man over and over again, every single day?”
“It was simple. His world was Kate. If he denied that, he might as well stop breathing right now.”
“He cared about her. He cared about her far too much. He craved her company when they were apart, and he dreamed about her at night, even as he held her in his arms.
He wasn‘t ready to call it love, but it terrified him all the same.
And whatever it was that burned between them, he didn‘t want it to end.”
“You‘re perfect.”
“Right here, right now, in this moment, in this garden, you‘re perfect.”
“It was that spark. That damnable spark that never seemed to dim between them. That awful prickle of awareness that burned every time she entered a room, or took a breath, or pointed a toe. That sinking feeling that he could, if he let himself, love her.
Which was the one thing he feared most.
Perhaps the only thing he feared at all.”
“And then there was Kate Sheffield. The bane of his existence. And the object of his desires. All at once.”
“A man with charm is an entertaining thing, and a man with looks is, of course, a sight to behold, but a man with honor—ah, he is the one, dear reader, to which the young ladies should flock.”
“he craved her good opinion.
Anthony couldn‘t remember the last time someone‘s regard had meant so much, and frankly, it was humbling.”
