Ever wonder what its like to attend a feast at Winterfell? Wish you could split a lemon cake with Sansa Stark, scarf down a pork pie with the Nights Watch, or indulge in honeyfingers with Daenerys Targaryen? George R. R. Martins bestselling saga A Song of Ice and Fire and the runaway hit HBO series Game of Thrones are renowned for bringing Westeross sights and sounds to vivid life. But one important ingredient has always been missing: the mouthwatering dishes that form the backdrop of this extraordinary world. Now, fresh out of the series that redefined fantasy, comes the cookbook that may just redefine dinner . . . and lunch, and breakfast. A passion project from superfans and amateur chefs Chelsea Monroe-Cassel and Sariann Lehrerand endorsed by George R. R. Martin himselfA Feast of Ice and Fire lovingly replicates a stunning range of cuisines from across the Seven Kingdoms and beyond. From the sumptuous delicacies enjoyed in the halls of power at Kings Landing, to the warm and smoky comfort foods of the frozen North, to the rich, exotic fare of the mysterious lands east of Westeros, theres a flavor for every palate, and a treat for every chef. These easy-to-follow recipes have been refined for modern cooking techniques, but adventurous eaters can also attempt the authentic medieval meals that inspired them. The authors have also suggested substitutions for some of the more fantastical ingredients, so you wont have to stock your kitchen with camel, live doves, or dragon eggs to create meals fit for a king (or a khaleesi). In all, A Feast of Ice and Fire contains more than 100 recipes, divided by region: The Wall: Rack of Lamb and Herbs; Pork Pie; Mutton in Onion-Ale Broth; Mulled Wine; Pease Porridge The North: Beef and Bacon Pie; Honeyed Chicken; Aurochs with Roasted Leeks; Baked Apples The South: Cream Swans; Trout Wrapped in Bacon; Stewed Rabbit; Sisters Stew; Blueberry Tarts Kings Landing: Lemon Cakes; Quails Drowned in Butter; Almond Crusted Trout; Bowls of Brown; Iced Milk with Honey Dorne: Stuffed Grape Leaves; Duck with Lemons; Chickpea Paste Across the Narrow Sea: Biscuits and Bacon; Tyroshi Honeyfingers; Wintercakes; Honey-Spiced Locusts Theres even a guide to dining and entertaining in the style of the Seven Kingdoms. Exhaustively researched and reverently detailed, accompanied by passages from all five books in the series and full-color photographs guaranteed to whet your appetite, this is the companion to the blockbuster phenomenon that millions of stomachs have been growling for. And remember, winter is comingso dont be afraid to put on a few pounds. Includes a Foreword by George R. R. Martin From the Hardcover edition.

Made Sister's Soup from my Game of Thrones cookbook and it is so freaking good!
It's pretty much a seafood chowder.

Stacy_31 What a fun idea!! 6y
xicanti The Elizabethan lemon cakes are sooooo good! I always use 2 cups of flour instead of 2.5, though, because the batter's hell to work with otherwise. 6y
Klou Omg! This is awesome!! 6y
Liatrek @xicanti Thank you for the tip😊 6y
Liatrek @Mitch Yes! I‘ve been counting down re watching just started season six 😊 6y
Liatrek @Leftcoastzen Right! Though I miss his longer hair. I‘m not big on the man bun 🤣 6y

I did some sorta-holiday baking today. These lemon cakes are destined for my father's and aunt's joint birthday celebration in early December. Lemon's my dad's favourite, and my aunt'll get a kick out of them because they're Sansa's lemon cakes. She read A Song of Ice and Fire earlier this year and just finished binging the show.

Updrifting @xicanti xicaI need this book in my life. 7y
xicanti @Updrifting it's great! I especially love the medieval beef & bacon pie and the bean & bacon soup. 7y

I don't use a lot of cook books I usually go on the Internet for inspiration. But I do have #cookbooklove for these two. One is a GoT themed cookbook with recipes based on medieval recepies and a modern variant. The beef and bacon pie is very good! The other one is my own recipie book with family recepies and some of my own favourites, we use this one a lot and often and to it! I bought it when me and BF just moved in together, over 5 years ago 😀

I love the concept. I like the authenticity of the recipes. Many aren't my taste, but there are definitely a few I'll be trying out soon. After reading so many passages detailing the meals of the seven kingdoms, it's only natural to want a little Westeros in your kitchen.

Pickpick

This is one of my favorite #cookbooks. It incorporates the passage of the Song of Ice & Fire novels where the food is mentioned, a real historical recipe (since a lot of the food in the books is based on medieval style meals), and a modern recipe. The recipes are divided up by geographic regions. I have so much fun with these recipes. Iced Blueberries in Sweet Cream from the Lord Commander's table at the Wall are quite yummy. #cookbook

Getting ready for the GoT season finale with one of my favorite cookbooks! On the menu: Aurochs Roasted with Leeks from the North, Onions in Gravy (in honor of the Onion Knight), Iced Blueberries in Sweet Cream from the Wall, and more. I can't wait to have my heart ripped out while eating good food! #cookbook

BookishFeminist This looks delicious! I love this cookbook as well but have yet to actually make anything from it. 🙊 8y
Ellsbeth @BookishFeminist I have a lot of fun with this cookbook. My favorite is the Dornish Duck recipe (my friends ask for that one) and the breakfasts. 8y
RebeccaRenner Omg, I had no idea this existed! WANT! 8y

Keegz63 This looks amazing! I almost bought an "Outlander" inspired cookbook yesterday. Might have to pick up both! 8y
Ellsbeth @BeckyRenner @Keegz63 I love it because it has both a historically researched recipe and a modern version for almost each dish. It's great! 8y
Gezemice Wow that is amazing! I had no idea they had this! 8y
Ellsbeth @Gezemice It started as a blog by two ladies who figured out recipes for the meals Martin mentions in the series. When Martin went on book tour, the ladies arranged for their blog fans to bring him baskets of food from the recipes at each stop. Then they got the approval for the cookbook! 🍗📚 8y
Gezemice That's awesome! Great story. Gotta check this out! 8y
