This is a nonfiction account of a married couple that opened a pizza place together in Seattle. The book is an exhausting, but realistic depiction of the challenges they faced. I understand the frustrations that come out of such an endeavor, but it was like reading Debbie Downer's account of being married to a chef. It wasn't one that was enjoyable or even made me want to try the food. A few random recipes are included as well.

I‘m committed to the 2017 version of me who wanted to read this. 😀

Reading the very charming Delancey by Molly Wizenberg (I loved her blog!) and snacking on some mid-morning munchies and a Nespresso on a grey and surprisingly chilly Bay Area morning.

I didn‘t expect to like this book. As a listener to the Spilled Milk podcast I am often annoyed that, although the subject matter can be fascinating, the numerous “likes” and goofy laughter at nothing (or maybe a sophomoric reference to body parts) take away from Molly‘s and her co-hosts knowledge and research.
The author comes off as a bit self centered and spoiled but I wonder if it‘s just because I myself am too harshly judging her. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Fun, interesting memoir about a young married couple opening a pizza restaurant in Seattle. Makes me want to eat some yummy pizza!

I'm entirely unfamiliar with Wizenberg, but I thought this book with its details of opening a restaurant was pretty interesting. Her voice is clear and it has good drive, although I got bored for a bit in the middle. Too much restaurant, not enough marriage. 🌟🌟🌟 #audiobooks

Oh I quite loved this book! It's currently a #Kindle deal. I might need to buy it since I read a copy from the library. The recipes are yummy! Ok, I've convinced myself 😚 #mommyreads #ebook #food #cookbook

nothing like a comforting food book on a not so lazy Sunday afternoon

I liked her previous book, A Homemade Life, much more. I guess I wasn't that interested in the struggles of opening a restaurant, but I did like hearing about how it impacted her life and her marriage. Also, the narrator's voice was all wrong. The voice was pleasant to listen to, but didn't match what I perceive to be the author's personality; it was too gentle and not spunky enough.

An inside look into what it's like to follow a passion and open a restaurant. While I do think she glossed over some things that lead to the restaurant's success (she had a widely-read food blog, a monthly column in Bon Appetit, many connections in food media), she does accurately capture the physical work, stress, and mental challenges accompanied with getting a restaurant off the ground.

This is a great read and gives very good insight into what it's like to start a restaurant (which we can relate to, all too well!). Highly recommend this for anyone who wants to learn what it's like to start your own restaurant. Or startups and entrepreneurship in general. Although, we can't recommend this soup recipe, but we endorse the effort! #restaurant #startup #cooking #entrepreneurship

I really enjoyed this book. Felt different from A Homemade Life (less nostalgic) but I loved reading everything related to opening the restaurant from an honest and relatable narrator. Plus, recipes!

I loved A Homemade Life so I'm looking forward to starting this one.

I loved Delancey even more than A Homemade Life. Wizenberg is one of my favorite food bloggers, so relatable and charming. I laughed and felt for this couple and their restaurant. Inspiring recipes and foodie talk also makes me want to cook more, and more importantly eat more!
