I have always liked poetry . I think it started when I found out I shared my birthday with Lord Byron ! The classics are my fave . Would really love some recs of newer writers . Only type of writing I don't like is dark/violent , just not my taste .

You don't have to be a fan of Garrison Keillor to appreciate his taste in poetry. This collection has introduced me to so many talented poets I would have likely never encountered. These aren't "the classics" and may not even be the "best poems." But they are good--good for your soul.

Finally jumping on the #augustofpages train so I can show off my #poetrybooks collection. I used to go to monthly poetry workshops as a middle schooler, and it's been a fixture in my life since then. Who are your favorite poets, Litsy?

There are many in this collection that resonate with me, but this one sticks both as a child now grown and the mother of young children. I enjoyed most of these poems. (Horrible title, though.)
