Yet his work was to later become influential & inspiring to Romantic Poets. He was more than a wordsmith. He was an intellect, an outspoken politician. He voiced words for the public good. He spoke of social reform & in favor of worker's rights. He is Lord Byron. #LitsyPoetry365
We lost an extraordinary soul when the world lost Maya Angelou, but she left us a legacy, a body of work that is unforgettable. I have no favorite by her, because so much is well-liked. So many of her words and thoughts are loved.
She will be forever remembered. And now she is forever free!

At tmes a poem that I fell in love with in childhood will suddenly come back to me. My favorite stanza:
Of those so close beside me, which are you?
God bless the Ground! I shall walk softly there,
And learn by going where I have to go.
An introspective look at the process of living, at the gain of insight, at the increase in consciousness & the acknowledgement that we flourish & fade in the same second.
