My 3rd completed book for #BooksinBloom 🌸

This was a solid start to a long running procedural series set in Scotland. The gruff cop who doesn‘t play by the rules. Cliched but still enjoyable, for what it is. A copy cat serial killer and a case that still haunts DCI Logan. Very fast paced and tense.

This is also a #BlameitonLitsy book. I‘d never heard of the author or series until @TheSpineView and @Andrew65 posted about it.

TheSpineView I am hooked on this series. It gets better as you go along. Waiting for the next book to come out. 9mo

“A Litter of Bones is the explosive debut crime thriller novel from Amazon number one bestselling author, JD Kirk, an exciting new voice in Scottish crime fiction. Perfect for fans of L.J. Ross, Ian Rankin, Chris Brookmyre, and Stuart Macbride.” #SeriesLove2023 @Andrew65 @TheSpineView

deeannloso @Andrew65 @TheSpineview I‘m really enjoying it. I came across this series when I was looking for authors similar to Stuart MacBride. I really enjoy police procedurals set in the UK. 1y
Andrew65 @deeannloso I‘ve always found ones set in Scotland are amongst my favourite. If you‘ve not read them I‘d also recommend the DCI Daley Series by Denzil Meyrick. 1y
deeannloso @Andrew65 Thank you for the recommendation. Series set in Scotland are my favorites as well. 1y

“Ten years ago, DCI Jack Logan stopped the serial child-killer dubbed 'Mister Whisper,' earning himself a commendation, a drinking problem, and a broken marriage in the process. Now, he spends his days working in Glasgow's Major Investigations Team, and his nights reliving the horrors of what he saw. And what he did.”

I am posting one book per day from my extensive to-be-read collection. No description and providing no reason for wanting to read it, I just do. Some will be old, some will be new. Don‘t judge me - I have a lot of books. Join in if you want!

Prompt: Pride and Glory

If you like crime thrillers this is a great series. Unexpected twists, inventive plots and a Scottish crime investigation unit you get to know intimately.

Klou Ooh sounds good. I'll definitely go and check this one out a bit more. 2y

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I joined the party late to this series.Book #11 in the DCI Logan series was recommended through Amazon, it wasn‘t until I dived deeper that I realised it was part of a longer series starting with A Litter of Bones. I‘m so glad I gave this a shot. It was such an quick easy read, the characters are brilliantly introduced and it sets things up for later in the series. If you love crime books you won‘t be disappointed.

Yep. Another series that I‘m going to obsess over. DCI Jack Logan is smart, funny, and knows his stuff. I really liked this book! It‘s short at 279 pages abs it reads so fast. Lots of action and police work. 😀 🌟🌟🌟🌟 ✨ 4.5. Book 1 of #20in4 complete.

TrishB Excited to get to these now. Always good to have a series to look forward to. 3y

I have a couple of hours before my first class of the day. Sitting down and rolling with #20in4 😊

@TrishB I‘m really liking this book. To the point that I 1-clicked the next to books in the series without batting an eye. I have a feeling I‘m going to binge this series!

TrishB Yay ! That sounds fab. I just brought the second one in the Kay Hunter series. 3y
TrishB I brought the first one 2 years ago for 99p. I can buy 1-3 for 99p today!! 3y
eanderson @TrishB Oooo!!! That‘s a great deal! DCI Logan is not as funny but still pretty funny like Poe. The second in The Kay Hunter is pretty good! I love her! (edited) 3y
TrishB Looking forward to them 👍🏻 3y

Great start to this series. A well done plot and loved the character of DCI Logan. He was crusty on the outside but had a soft inside that people rarely saw. Prefer character for the story. Fast paced and I didn't even suspect the ending. I love when I get taken by surprise.
I will definitely be reading more by this author. 4 ⭐ #Scarathon2021 @clwojick #TeamSlaughter #SpookOween #Necronomathon @Patchshank #Wickedathon @StayCurious

Tove_Reads @Andrew65 you‘ve been good with starting new series lately! 2y
Tove_Reads @andrew65 I have actually read this one, just figured it out 🤣 2y
Andrew65 @Tove_Reads At the moment sampling books from a whole range of new series and will be continuing this during October, so will have a lot of new series to get to after that. Making the most of my free period for Kindle Unlimited. 2y
Andrew65 @Tove_Reads Did we decide on a series to replace Simon McCleave with? 2y
Tove_Reads @andrew65 No, we didn‘t. We discussed Conrad Jones, Rhys Dylan, Stewart Giles, Sally Rigby I think at least. Luckily there are many great ones out there! Also interested in Joy Ellis, JD Kirk, Neil Lancaster, JM Dalgliesh, James Carol, Jodie Lawrance, Robert McNeill, Douglas Skelton, and several Bookouture authors like Carolyn Arnold and MM Chouinard. You simply MUST read Patricia Gibney now! Will not hear of anything else!! 2y
Andrew65 I‘ve read all the Max Craigie series by Neil Lancaster but he does have one other short (3 book) series. We just need to make a decision and go for one of them. Any of the first 4 work for me, just read the first Cavendish and Walker Book by Sally Rigby and really enjoyed it. All 4 are available on Kindle Unlimited. (edited) 2y
Tove_Reads @eadieb Which would you want to read from the first four I mentioned☝🏾 I am fine with any and all, and so is @Andrew65 2y
EadieB @Tove_Reads @Andrew65 I have Ryhs Dylan on my booklist for October. 2y
Andrew65 @EadieB @Tove_Reads I think the first series we get to then should be Rhys Dylan. Is that (edited) 2y
Tove_Reads @andrew65 @eadieb Let‘s do it! 2y
EadieB @Tove_Reads Sounds good to me! @Andrew65 2y
Andrew65 Okay will add the Rhys Dylan to my reading for this weekend or next week. @EadieB @Tove_Reads 2y
