This is my issue with YA tropes... They just get too much.
If you take out all the teen romantic dramas in this one there's no story left. Luckily it's the second to last one. And I want to know what happens to Magnus. In this series he is the only person I care about.

Ok I am still listening to this book, but am SO tired of all the sappy teen romance crap that doesn‘t further the story at all!! The last couple books were annoying enough with the main couple. But now in this book there are THREE couples that I have to wade through all the sappy love scenes! I mean I know this book is aimed at teens, but COME ON!! All this kissy kissy, hearts fluttering stuff is not adding to the story at ALL!

When I first read this book, I mostly hated Clary. After rereading this, I hate Jace too. Kind of still love everyone else. My heart still breaks for Magnus and Alec! I still remember this series fondly!

Picked back up on my reread of this series and fell in love with it all over again. I‘ve never read the final book in the series, but I‘m going to reread/finish the prequel series before I get to that one. I loved this series before it was as popular as it became and it takes me back to simpler days #doublespin #april #seriesread2021

I thought this series was supposed to improve after the first three books? I am finding them quite boring, and speed up the reading speed to get through it quicker. Do I need to read these to continue onto the next series?

Clary is once again racing to save Jace. But, the themes were too similar to the earlier novel, and it felt like a repeat of what I‘d just read in the previous novel. The relationship filler also needed to be cut back. Too many stories were told within the pages of this book. I want more world-building, background, and story. #youngadult #urbanfantasy

This is the 5th book in The Mortal Instruments series & it was rather lack luster despite some overdramatic moments. So in this one Clary's real brother Jonathan/Sebastian, which ever name he's going by, is working on raising Lilith. Also he found a way to join himself with Jace, so if one of them dies so does the other.

Some #audiopuzzling this morning while I finished my #reread of this! The epilogue still gets me even though I know what happens in the future. This isn‘t my favourite book of the series but very enjoyable nevertheless. Especially after things start to happen. #shadowhunterchronicles

This book started off slow to me but eventually picked up and became a solid continuation of the series. Loved the cliffhanger!

My original review was “so-so”, and with this re-read I have to go with “pick!” I stand by my point where I wrote originally “repititive at times”, but I gotta say: this re-read was worth it!

Clary‘s determined to save Jace. And some might again think it‘s disgusting in some scenes. But if we were to think Sebastian as a demon and not a human, it‘s not surprising that he had such thoughts. #paranormalromance #audiobook

A good conclusion

Note to self: don‘t take three years between books 4 and 5 in a series! Especially when there are only 6 books. That being said, I think I enjoyed this one the most so far, despite being a little lost at the beginning. Sh*t got real with Jace and Clary, as well as some of the other couples too. The final battle has been well and properly set up, so I‘ll definitely finish this #seriesread in 2019.

Another great read. Love the characters and the series. I don't want to start the next book, as it means only one thing.....the end. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

The book started off slow for me. I kind of find it annoying that Clary jumps into things without thinking them through. That being said, the book really started to pick up towards the middle end. There were so many references to TID which I loved. Also, Magnus reminded me a bit of Dionysus from Percy Jackson when he kept saying Simon's name wrong 😂 Can't wait to read the next and last book in this series!

I've been really busy with tests, but I finally got some time to read. Honestly, I'm not really enjoying this book as much as the others. Personally, I find Clary's character to be a bit annoying at times. I really love the other characters in this series though, and people have told me the book gets better.
Hopefully I'll have time to finish this book soon, and Happy Easter 🤗

I have had the series for. Long time I passed the first four to my daughter friend.. I still have the last two to read decided it‘s time. Kinda sad this was a the only one I got from the used book store that didn‘t have a dust jacket.
