Welcome to Litsy!

Just my general thoughts on the whole Chicagoland Vampires series. There are 13 books and some novellas. Once the characters grew on me I had to binge the rest of the series. It has more spice and language than I usually prefer. If you like books like the Charley Davidson series by Darynda Jones I think you'd enjoy this series as well. The main supernaturals throughout the series are vampires, shifters and sorcerers.

Another new series for me. I enjoyed the story. It was paced well and there was plenty of drama to keep you interested. I also liked the characters. I do wish there had been a little more character development of Ethan. I suppose it will come in later books. 4⭐️

Does anyone else have issues putting their clothes away after they have been washed? Haha So Bad!!!!

I'm going to be listening to Some Girls Bite while I put those damn clothes away. I need a maid or a magic fairy or something so I don't have to do some of the things that adults need to do. Who wants to quit being an adult sometimes??? 🙋‍♀️🙋‍♀️🙋‍♀️

Recently I realized just how many vampire based fantasy romance series there are that I haven‘t read. So I decided to start giving them a try.

The first book of the Chicagoland Vampires series left me wanting: wanting characters who are less superficial.

I couldn‘t muster any feelings for the MC. For having such a traumatic change thrust upon her, all she did was whine about it a few times and have an attitude.

I‘m hoping it gets better.

Well going try out this book should be quick read while I wait for my video game to download

Been stuck in a reading stump for a few weeks now and decided to try something new. Bad move. Now I'm hooked on a new series while still reading 2 other books 🙈🙈 I don't know where my priorities should lie! #bookwormproblems

Do yourself a favor and pick this up today for your ereader!

So this was hella entertaining. The narrator isn't my favorite, but I kept listening because I really really like the heroine & wanted to know what would happen to her. She's snarky, intelligent, stubborn, & has a great best friend (who is female!).

There's the requisite learning you're now a badass after gaining new powers part. I'm not sure if there's much new here re: vampires, but I don't know all that much about vampire lore.

I'm on a UF kick right now, especially of the kick ass heroine variety.

I'm not super into vampires, but this is fun. The heroine is smart, funny, stubborn, and sarcastic.

Current read! I‘m enjoying it so far, but I‘d like for the pace to pick up some. I‘m about halfway through. 😋

Super into the start of this series.

Riding out Harvey with a new series. Love that Merit is a strong, sassy heroine.

On the left is the first book from the Chicagoland Vampires series. On the right is the first book from the Downside Ghosts series. Both favorites of mine, although I haven't finished Downside. The heroines are flawed, funny, and kick ass in a big way. #JuneBookBugs #urbanfantasy

This is a difficult book to review. It was not a horrible book; however, it was lacking in certain areas. I feel like a lot of the book went on about nothing and then the transitions from one subject to the next came out of no where. Especially when it came to the main characters feelings... that is something you have to witness yourself. 😓

It had great world building, an awesome cast of characters and a kick-butt heroine who is smart, snarky and fun. ⭐⭐⭐⭐

After the weird romance in the last book. I need a kick-butt female to read about to cleanse the palette. This is more Urban Fantasy so perfect to read as I recover from My last book.

I love this series, so I nominate author Chloe Neill as my #WCW this week. Quick fun reads with just the right blend of horror, suspense, and relationships / romance. Decidedly adult but not raunchy. Perfect pacing and consistent thrills. After 12 books, it's not rote or routine for this author!
