Oops. Went a little overboard on my first in-person visit to Book Outlet in years.
This book is so much fun.
It imagines the Brontë sisters as amateur detectives.
I was won over early on when Anne Brontë was recognised as a warrior.
Go, Anne!

(Excuse my crappy editing.)
I expected this to be a cosy murder mystery but it is much more than that and a much more enjoyable because of that.
You don't need to be familiar with the Brontë sisters' works too enjoy this though if you are, they are elements that connect into the books they wrote.
Author Rowan Coleman, using a nom de plume taken directly from the Brontes, imagines a mystery that the three writing sisters set out to solve. It‘s a fun read, especially those familiar with and fans of Charlotte, Emily, and Anne. I'm a fan of this book series, especially as I love the Brontës' own work. I loved the mystery and atmosphere of this story and how the individual characters of the sisters each add something to the development, excitement and plot. A great traditional mystery woven together with elements of the supernatural that is really entertaining.
Meh. I had higher expectations for this first book in a new series in which the three Bronte sisters are “detectors.”
This is a great read. The first in a series, the second comes out later in the year. The Brontë sisters turn to detecting. The cover is fantastic too! #bookcovers
I saw this on litsy & thought I would enjoy it because it turns the Bronte sisters into “detectors”. I have to admit that while I loved Jane Eyre in hs, I tried to read it in grad school & dnf‘ed it. I still love Wuthering Heights, even though the characters are unlikeable. Maybe that‘s why I liked Emily Bronte the best in this fun novel. There‘s some great feminist statements. Now I want to visit the Bronte home if I ever make it to England.
This book had almost a week‘s break in the middle when I accidentally left it at work over Christmas, so I was so glad to get it back today to unravel the end of the mystery. I‘ve never read a Brontë book but am keen to now, as while it is fiction, it‘s been a fun look at the sisters. I always think I‘m not a fan of historical fiction, but I really enjoyed this and I hope there‘ll be another mystery soon!
My lovely wife got me this gorgeous #GoldsboroBooks #signededition of this first in series #CozyMystery #TheBronteMysteries 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 The #endpapers are gorgeous too!
A murder mystery with the Bronte sisters out trying to solve the case. This was a really good read with lots of twists that took me by surprise. First in the series so looking forward to the next. #Netgalley 4*
I loved this, it was such a good read. The characters rang true ( I am especially fond of Emily), & the research done was clear in the level of detail. The author also cleverly inserts little references to people, places, & events that could have inspired their writings in this fictional world. 5🌟
Thanks to NetGalley & publishers, Hodder & Stoughton, for the opportunity to read an ARC. #NetGalley
'Oh dear, I do worry about all the deceit that comes with detecting. It doesn't seem very godly at all'.

This just popped up in my email from #NetGalley ...a mystery with the Bronte sisters as the amateur detectives?? Yes, please! My little gothic heart just beat a little bit faster. Requested, with fingers crossed, that I‘m approved to read this.
