A collection of short stories.Since I listened to the audiobook, I cannot refer to specific story titles, but I can say that each one captured my heart and soul. I think one was called Rose Johnny, and the relationship between a young farm girl and an outsider was very moving. One of the stories referred to a dog named Pickles, which made me think of @MicheleinPhilly ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️ #authoramonth

It‘s only January 2nd, and I‘ve already changed my TBR. 🙄 I read the first story of this collection for #authoramonth and it didn‘t disappoint. Now to start my Winter project of marking the books in my library ap by where they are shelved in the house so I can find them.

Had to return some 📚 to the library yesterday arvo. It was a stinking hot day. The kind I love (I was still at the beach at 6pm). I picked up these books at the little free library on the way home. The tea pot & earrings are from the op shop. I ate my homemade meat pie for dinner on my balcony & noticed weird patterns in the ocean I haven‘t seen before. Then along came 146km per hr winds, thunder, lightning & Forest Gump rain. Scary but cool.

This is one of Kingsolver‘s earlier books. I‘m not always into short stories, so I liked some of these but some were so-so. Most of them didn‘t have a tidy ending, so they felt incomplete, but I guess that was the point. This finishes my Modern Mrs Darcy challenge-the only one I did this year. Prompt was a book in an author‘s backlist

A beautiful collection of simple but poignant stories, all quite different from each other. As with nearly all short story collections, some are stronger than others. My favorite one from this collection is "Bereaved Apartments." Recommend.

I just realized that, although I've had this #signed book on my shelves for a long time, I don't think I've ever read it. 🙀 (Though I've read others by this author.) #readjanuary
