StoryGraph stats from last year! I made a real effort with queer books for #lgbtbookbingo!
It looks like I forgot to add a couple books, I take much better care in updating goodreads. I can‘t figure out what‘s missing though. 🤷🏻♀️

I forgot my Genre's Graph for 2021
Thrillers & Mysteries for the win! About 4 years ago, I primarily read Romance.
This Graph shows Ratings and Books per Month for 2021
All my graphs are done from Google Spreadsheets.
My Total # of Books for the year is 202 and 223 if I count DNF's.
My average rating is 3.9/5. This is probably as high as it is because I usually DNF a book if I'm not liking it. This is why I quit Netgalley books since I always felt like I couldn't DNF them. Between my Libraries, KU, & Audible+, I can usually get almost any book I want.
# of minutes by Month.
Total Minutes = 115,100 which comes out to 1,918 hours of listening. Which is WOW!
# of Pages by Month. I convert all my audiobooks into pages based on the kindle edition of the book because that's how I roll. So none of the Audible Originals (that only have an audio edition) are included. Nor are any of my DNF's.
That comes to 68,392 Total Pages for the Year.
I predominately choose books written by Female Authors without even trying, actually. I prefer female authors.
About half my books are New to me Authors.
Last one...
I predominantly chose Adult books this year...that number keeps going up as I get older.
I get most of my books from the Library both my local (kdl) and Brooklyn Public Library which I pay yearly for a card, despite not living there. (Ask me about it, I'll tell you how to get one, too. If you live in the US.)
Is anyone else checking out thestorygraph.com I made an account on it. Same user as here. #storygraph #newplatform
I‘m jumping into The Story Graph in an effort to decrease my reliance on Amazon and Amazon Products- so here is my last Goodreads reading challenge and my brand new reading challenge on The Story Graph.
This was both very satisfying and surprising! It turns out I like romance! I did not expect that- but maybe my definition of romance is different? Also I felt like I read more non fiction....
I‘ve just discovered StoryGraph and I love the little breakdowns of my reading style, it‘s so fun. Apparently I like “mainly fiction books that are adventurous, emotional, and mysterious. You tend to choose medium-paced books that are 300-499 pages long.” Who knew I was secretly an adventure reader?
Graph #3
My husband is a wonderful support in many ways. One thing he commented on many times before we got married was that he wished to see me work less and enjoy life more. We got married in March, but it doesn‘t look like I really settled into the “work less, enjoy life more” mindset until June. While July was my peak month for reading, I also happened to be pretty sick and suffering from major issues with my chronic pain that month.
This one tracks my ratings. Ultimately my goal is to only have books with 3 or more star ratings on here, which would mean more DNFs instead of wasting time on things I‘m really not enjoying.
Interestingly, I have 3 DNFs for this year already. I‘m also questioning myself a bit. I wonder if I was a bit too generous with some of my ratings last year, as there are a few that I don‘t believe I enjoyed quite as much as my ratings suggests.
I‘m trying to make some graphs to track books I‘ve read in different ways for a binder I‘ve been working on. I categorized the 2018 reads based on the genre I thought best fit the book, although a few different genres could have applied for some.
My next goal is to create one based on the ratings I gave each book last year.
