Continuing the slog on a Saturday morning. Hoping it feels better soon!
Continuing the slog on a Saturday morning. Hoping it feels better soon!
Bk6 of July is done. The 11th book in the WOT, it‘s the last one written by Jordan before his death. The Pattern is unraveling, the dead are walking, bubbles of evil are everywhere and the land is dying. Rand is struggling with his madness while trying to force peace so the Last Battle can be fought together. But the Seanchan stand in his way so he tries for a meeting with Tuon. #BookspinBingo #SeriesLove2023 #ChunksterChallenge2023
Book eleven done! A lot more more exciting than book 10!
This is definitely one of the better books of the series. It had great pacing and even more character development. Things seem to be moving into place as Tarmon Gai'don draws nearer.
I finished the last of my presents this morning, so I can finally get back to making stuff for myself! I hunkered down with my audiobook and my first fox face mitten this afternoon. The second one‘ll be knit in reverse so the full face appears when I put my hands together. #audioknitting
I got up early to assemble a chocolate cake. Hopefully the recipient likes it!
I‘M liking my KNIFE OF DREAMS reread. I‘ve only read it once, so I remember the highlights but not the details. Some of what I remember might be from the next few books, too; I read them all in a rush back then and they kinda blended together. #audiobaking
The end is nigh! Book 11 was originally supposed to be the penultimate book in the series, and it shows. All the building tension of the previous few books gets a release valve here, as pretenders to various thrones are dispatched with, wandering armies are crushed or absorbed by rivals, and old enemies form uneasy alliances as Tarmon Gai'don looms on the horizon. This is the last book Robert Jordan finished before he died, and 👇
A few things about the eleventh novel:
Tuon and Rand deserve to be locked in the same room and forced to live with each other; never to be heard from anyone else ever again.
Finally, the biggest disappointment is that, even though this is deep fantasy, the protagonists would consider and in fact make temporary alliances with a group of people that value enslavement and torture. The ends justifying the means is not always an acceptable excuse.

Bingo! (column 2)
Definitely one of the best books in the series, so far. So much character development has taken place over the course of the series and the plot just kept hurtling forward in this book.
Very excited to be past the "slog" and three books from the end of the series!
I‘m getting closer to the end of the series and can‘t help myself from binging as much as I can. A lot of loose ends have been tied off in this session but I know more will come as the preparation for the final battle comes closer.

Not a bad view to do some brain storming, and a bit of reading. Been playing about with an idea for a book for years now. It‘s about time I put pen to paper 🙌🏻👌🏻 #fantasy #epicfantasy
A morning coffee in the Palace Downtown Dubai with views of the Dubai Opera House and Burke Khalifa. Not a bad way to get a few chapters in 👍🏻🙌🏻 #fantasy #epicfantasy #buddyreadWOT #wheeloftime
It took ten books but I finally hit a point where the spanking scenes made me cringe with discomfort. Please please please Amazon, do not include spanking in the Wheel of Time show. #BuddyReadWoT

I playing caught up. This is yesterday's prompt. I have not read this one yet. The series got to be way too long and I have not been in the mood to try and complete it. I felt the author should have wrapped in up about book 8 or so. Anyone else not complete this series?
I can‘t believe how quickly I got through this compared to other books in the series! So many excited things are happening! I will say that some of the events that happened in this stressed me out big time 😂 I had to keep reading! On to the next!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I started this over the weekend while at work but didn‘t have time to post about it until now 🤷🏼♀️ I‘m 1/3 of the way through and the pacing of this has been the fastest in the series since the first or second book! I‘m really getting through it and it‘s incredible! I‘m finally back in my reading groove 😍 It helps to have a great & handsome bf who also loves to read 😏😉
I‘m drinking a sugar cookie latte and I‘m PUMPED for Christmas!!
Took me too long to read this one, not because it is bad, it is amazing really, but I think because I'm scared that I won't recognize the characters I love from now one. This is the last one written by Robert Jordan.
After a few books that I have not loved as much, this one was encapsulated everything I love about this series. The plot lines that were dragging on and on were finally tied up and there was a lot of action and some fun twists. I even got teary at one point. This was the last book Jordan wrote before he passed so I am a little nervous about starting the next in the series. Still I cannot wait to see what happens next.
As good as the first 10! #LitsyAtoZ #LetterK @BookishMarginalia #MountTBRChallenge #theyearofthechunkster

Up next is book 11!! And the last one Robert Jordan finished before his death 🙁
#TheWheelOfTimeXmasReread and it‘s saddens me that this is the last Jordan completed before his death.Lots of action in this with kidnappings, rescues, battles, pregnancies & the Pattern starting to loosen as Tarmon Gai‘don comes closer. As much as the last three books disappointed,I encourage any reader who loves fantasy, who loves when a world is built so skillfully you can see it,any who love a well told story to pick this up. You won‘t regret it.
At Bk11 of #TheWheelOfTimeXmasReread just three books to go before the grand finale. This is the last book that Robert Jordan finished himself before his death in 2007, I would‘ve loved to read his version of the end but it was not to be🤷🏻♀️Strings are starting to be made into a pattern in this book, Egwene begins as a captive, Rand is ambushed & Mat is still with Tuon until a letter from an old “friend” pulls him into a dangerous rescue.❤️💙🧡
Well, I seem to be making quite decent progress on my April #TBR! That Robert Jordan tho. Only 261 of 761 pages left! #TBRTuesday
Here's my ever-hopeful #AprilTBR. The top four I will likely finish in the next week or so, and the bottom row are my hopefuls. Rapture Practice is a book club pick, so that one will definitely get read... that Robert Jordan, though! I need to buckle down and focus on that one. After I finish Closed & Common Orbit and King of Attolia, that is... both of which I'm having a hard time putting down at the moment. 😏

Here's my #marchtbr... mostly leftovers from last month that I didn't get to! I got distracted by the library quite a bit last month, and am hoping to get back on track with reading down my #TBR shelves in March (although I do have that library audiobook there in the corner...) And I WILL finally finish the freaking Robert Jordan this month!! #marchintoreading
My favorite: reading on a gloriously rainy day. Skipped watching the inauguration because I just can't. What I can do is post info on the proposed defunding of the NEA & NEH. There are many important issues to fight for; the arts can get swept under the table easily. Yet the arts are crucial in this fight & I'm so tired of that being the first thing to get axed. My husband (formerly a high school music teacher) is out of work due to budget cuts.👇
I've been off Litsy for a few days due to family New Year's/ Christmas celebrating! Catching up today with some #readjanuary posts. 😊Here are my #bookishresolutions for 2017. The soon-to-be revived blog is at commonplacehope.wordpress.com if anyone wants to check up on me!
I never stick to my reading plan for the month, but here's what I #wanttoreadinDec. Cold weather is perfect for reading fantasy, so: Wheel of Time, and I just started The Thief (so why not go for the whole series?!). Then City of Stairs caught my eye, but I also want to dive into Heartless... Half the Sky has been on my list all year... and of course there are the other three I'm in the middle of now... sigh. #booknerdproblems #seasonsreadings2016
