Last month, I actually managed to watch a bunch of horror movies that I‘ve been meaning to get around to for forever. “Knives Out” was easily one of the best movies I‘ve seen all year. I threw in “Anna and the Apocalypse”, which I actually watched a few months ago and needs only three words of explanation: Zombie. Christmas. Musical. (I actually bought a few songs from the soundtrack before I even finished the movie.) I‘ll read it eventually.
pickI loved it! I took the time to put this book right into my eyes and boy was it a fun experience. Scottish teenagers at Christmas during a zombie apocalypse, what could be better! Keeping myself away from potential spoilers, I really enjoyed this and I‘m going to find the movie!🍿 🎥 Let me end by saying the kills were both creative AND festive.
I don‘t want to be super dramatic but I‘m trying to work and I just want to read this so bad. Put it right into my eyeballs! Why has it been sitting in my shelf unread for so long!? Why do I have to work when I should be reading it!?

so-soI just finished this as an audiobook and it was just okay. Apparently it is also a movie; I will definitely check that out. As I was listening to it I kept thinking, "this reads more like a movie." Now I know why since the book came after.
It was a quick, quirky read, but I never reached the point where I felt connected to the characters.

Watched this Christmas Zombie musical - yes you read that right! It was really good - and even though it‘s set at X-Mas, I think with all the blood and gore it counts as a point for #teamslaughter @Clwojick
panThis story has been done a lot but I love zombies so I always try to read books about them. This story could have been good but it felt disjointed and scattered. There was really no plot or character development. A lot of the times I‘d be reading and was confused, so I would read it again and it still confused me.
There were a few funny lines that had me lol. It just needed a few more rounds of editing and then it could have been decent.

I caved in and broke my book buying ban and took advantage of BN bookhaul sale. I ordered these online the other day and picked them up today.

I went to the #bookhaul preview at BN last night and I must say I was disappointed. I had looked at the books online and had my list ready when I went in. All the books were laid on 3 tables. And it wasn‘t anywhere near the 400+ books they said. Plus some of the books on my list that were on the main webpage were only 20% off in store. The manager gave me that book ( courting darkness) at the 1/2 off but there were so many others. 👇🏻
so-soThe plot of this story really got my attention, a teen zombie Christmas story. Normally I don't pick up book adaptations of films but I'd already started reading before I found out. It was a fun and silly read, although I didn't really connect with any of the characters. I give it 3 out of 5 stars and will definitely watch the movie. I hear it's a musical too!😉

pickComplete brain candy. It offers absolutely no nutritional value but is deliciously entertaining. Full of blood & guts, pop culture references, slap-stick humor, Christmas spirit. & oh did I mention lots of zombies. It was a quick and easy read. I am excited to see how this is translated into musical form.
I really want to see this movie. I am a huge fan of musicals so when I saw 'zombies, singing, & Christmas' I said, "sign me up"!!! Unfortunately it isn't playing near me so I will attempt to read the novelization instead.
