Another great Morgan Dane book. I enjoyed how the book started with a murder mystery immediately like the other books in the series. Morgan & Lance are searching for a teenager, Evan, who is the primary suspect in the gruesome murder of his stepfather. Evan's mothers past comes back to haunt them both & the secrets she's kept for so many years resurface. Morgan & Lance race to find the true killer before the killer can finish the job they started.

I love the Morgan Dane series and I am so excited that I have 2 of them to catch up on! It was easy to jump into this one and still remember details about the characters - even though it has been a while since I read the first ones. I was able to listen while I did dishes, worked on house projects and unpacked some of the never-ending boxes we seem to have. It kept my attention through it all! Looking forward to number 6!

First let me start with the fact that this is the 5th book in a series I absolutely love. Books 1-4 have been 5 stars for me so don‘t let my rating on book 5 stop you from picking this series up! This is a fantastic murder/mystery, detective type series.

I liked this book but it is the weakest one in the series. However, I LOVED books 1-4 so I will anxiously await book #6

Totally enjoying myself once again.... Story started out quite intense. Lance and Morgan couldn‘t catch a break. After her girls are down with flu and they hardly rest, now they had another case where a teenager is missing and his stepdad is dead. #romanticsuspense

What I enjoyed most about reading this story was that it felt authentic, as if this was breaking news and I was able to follow along with the investigation. The mystery was even-paced with some excitement. There was suspense but I wish there had been more, it lacked the “on the edge of your seat” type of suspense that has you flipped the pages as soon as possible.
