Lucy journals through her international trip, sharing fears, things she enjoyed, frustrating encounters, and thoughts on self-discovery in your mid to late 20s (and probably early to mid 30s!). It was fun seeing her illustrations of things she ate or bought, and what she did during her trip. Her exploration of the meaning of "an age of license" was interesting to see as well. Several of Lucy's experiences resonated with me. #Travel #Journal #Comic

I loved this graphic novel.
Her travel is so amazing and fun to see in her graphics.
We have lots of comics and graphic books in our house but I‘m not a fan and rarely read any of them. This was lying around, I picked it up and got lost in the travels and loves of Lucy. Sat outside in the warmth, inside is colder than the outside! Loved this little story, especially as her travels took her to some places I had visited. A quick enchanting read.

I have come to love graphic novels recently, as well Lucy Kinsley books.
This one was just as good as all the rest I have read. Loved it.

This was a great graphic novel about an author's trip around Europe. The occasional color pictures were especially lovely. It turns out she's done several of these, so I will definitely be checking out more.
#BookishBingo: Memoir
I really enjoy Lucy Knisley's work. Travel definitely does take us out of ourselves, and I so wish I could do more of it myself. But until then, I have books!

My second book from this author. Was short and cute. Love her watercolor pages. Makes me wanna visit Europe! #hoopla
This one was okay. After reading French milk, it was more of Lucy traveling around Europe so more yummy food, wine, etc. Throughout she contemplates the title of the book and what it means. Like I said it was okay and interesting but not one of my favorite books of hers but I'm glad to have read it.
2 1/2 stars
I decided to start participating in #7in7readathon 2 days after it started. I‘m joining in because I plan to read several books on Saturday for #reversereadathon & I figured I could read 7 things between now & Sunday. Tonight I completed Astronaut, started & finished Giant Days Vol. 1, & began Age of License. I may not count Astronaut for 7in7 since I technically started it before the readathon began. It‘ll depend on what I‘ve finished by Sunday.
“What I really love about travel is that it takes us outside ourselves... it unhomes you. And allows you to see possibilities for change, growth, a new life.” I am a huge fan of Knisley‘s work. This one covers her time adventuring through Europe, visiting friends, and a brief love affair. She is so honest and I love her attention to detail. She savors each new food and experience she tries.
I absolutely loved this travelogue, even more than Relish! Perhaps because it had the structure of the trip to hang on? But a real life trip to Europe isn't much of a plot...I don't understand why, it's just a lovely book. ☺️ #letsgetgraphicweeklongmarathon number 3!

Ok, ok, hear me out--Lucy meets this guy, spends one additional day with him, then meets him in Stockholm for a whirlwind love affair?! I'm gonna say that's #theherowinsthisround! Get it, girl! 🙌🏼

Lol! This would totally be my luck attempting to get anywhere in a foreign country. (Loving this book, btw 😍)
Lucy Knisley is so talented! I love her drawings so much... I may or may not have just ordered French Milk so I can own a copy and reread....
I forgot that I ordered this and it showed up today 😂😂😂 I love when I surprise myself!!
Look what I got from interlibrary loan! I have a short night shift at the library maybe this and loads of caffeine will keep me company! #FridayReads
My 2nd Lucy Knisley book. I'm now officially a fan ❤️
Starting my second Knisley of the day! This all graphic novel #readathon has been my best idea in a long while. Since my last update I've finished: Black Panther n1-12, Paper Girls n6-13, Sex Criminals V3, and World of Wakanda n1-5. Pure joy during all of it.
Excellent second book of the weekend. A closely guarded stack to choose from next.
A solid like, not love. The theme of being in your mid-twenties and trying to figure life out was great;Knisley is such an open, honest, charming writer that I couldn't help but enjoy her story. However, the format wasn't my favorite. The drawing was fine, and her color illustrations were beautiful. But it's a travelogue/diary/sketchbook, and though the timeline was linear, it felt anecdotal, with some abstract visuals to explore big thoughts.
Quality #libraryhaul. Not that I need more books, but I was there dropping stuff off anyway. Might as well.
Lucy Knisley knows all... This is exactly what my life has been like as a serial mover (minus the heartbreak)!
Another great graphic memoir from Lucy Knisley.
