Sorry, but l boiled on Miss Fisher halfway through.
This is my least favourite in the Miss Fisher series. It was meadering, aimless, and - l have to say it - dowright boring.
I just couldn't care.
On to my next #NetGalley #ARC
This is probably my least favourite among the Miss Fisher novels l've read. I'm having a hard time reading it. It feels like the story focuses of mondane stuff and nothing substantial ever happens.
I'm considering baling.

Book 14 in my Phryne Fisher reread via audiobook is another solid entry in the series. Here, her adoptive daughter Ruth wants to find out who her father is. She ends up getting kidnapped in the process. The episode of this on the show is a really good one, although there are a few differences. But as always, you can‘t go wrong with Phryne! 4⭐️

14 down & 6 to go in my #PhryneMarathon I keep forgetting how many books there are, though I‘d love a few more Ms Greenwood! One can never have too much Phryne💃🏻This one had a bit more of her backstory, with a bit of the Orkneys woven in, plus it brings Ruth‘s history into it(though Phryne certainly gets around doesn‘t she?😉)Another wonderful read. #phryneappreciationclub
1️⃣ Both. Fiction and non fiction
2️⃣ Barbara Tuchman's The Guns Of August
3️⃣ definitely Phys. Ed.
4️⃣ 1900 to WW2 period ... hence Phryne Fisher 😁
5️⃣ anyone you wants to play 😁
Bk14 Of The Phryne Fisher series is finished. In this one, Phryne has been asked to be the Queen in the Flower Parade, which includes looking after the four flower maidens, most of whom cause immense trouble. One goes missing under troubling circumstances with another implicated. Then Phrynes adopted daughter goes missing. A good read, full of carnies & circus folk, lots of folk music & a few ruffians & Very Bad Men. #phryneappreciationclub
Cheers! It's Champagne Day. If there's one thing I know for sure about Phryne, it's that she would never miss a chance to celebrate. 🍾 #champagneday #flowerfriday #phryneappreciationclub
"He coaxed the cork from the bottle---no French waiter however cheeky, will retain his position if he wastes good champagne in popping, a practice fit only for Englishmen and barbarians---and allowed a little golden wine to trickle into Phryne's glass." #bubbles
So many colorful series! #bookrainbow #FallIntoBooks @RealLifeReading
(The cat had to inspect this photo setup so that's a smidge of her that you see in the bottom left corner 😻)
Love the art work on Phryne books. @RealLifeReading #readjanuary #dressesoncovers
#readjanuary #day5 #dressesoncovers I have most of the Selection books which have ballgowns on the cover, but they seem to be used a lot in this one, so I grabbed my Phryne Fisher Art Deco covers instead. They're so beautifully drawn, and every dress on the cover is the exact drawing of a dress she wears in the story. The fashions were amazing, lots of sequins, feathers, velvets & fur with huge costume jewelry, or if rich enough, real stones.
Finished this wonderful Phryne Fisher story whilst polishing off a bowl of strawberries, raspberries, blueberries&blackberries, sprinkled with icing sugar and fresh chopped mint with clotted cream & vanillabean icecream. I was too hungry to take a before picture so here's my bowl! The book was entertaining, as all Phryne books are, with lots of Lin Chung, Dot, Jane & Ruth & Mr & Mrs Butler. We also had missing flower maidens & a Scotsman. 4🌟
Two whole days and nights with no one else in the house! The hubby has gone to his sisters property for New Years, no air conditioning & a 500metre walk to the bathroom means NO for me, and the daughter will be working overnight on NYE so I have complete free rein to read, listen to my music loud and burn as many strong scented candles as I want. Happy New Year!🎉🎶🕯📖🎉 #perfectnewyearseve #partylikealibrarian
Up next is the Hubbys choice from my TBR, he said the cover looks like it'll be interesting. No14 in the Honorable Miss Phryne Fisher Mysteries, its 1928 & St Kilda is all prettied up for the Flower Parade. Who else would be chosen as Queen of the Flowers, but Phryne is also dealing with a missing daughter & a young woman found drowned on the beach at Elwood. I'm almost at the end of current Phryne books, I hope she writes some more! #nextup
