Loved it!
Snuggling up with this gem of a book. I'm only just beginning, but I am enjoying it so much already. I miss his class, eloquence, and grace.

It's so hard to believe we went from this amazing man as President to what we have now. This book was so good and uplifting!
Starting this today. My book club pick this month!
What a pleasure and comfort to read the words of a compassionate, intelligent, classy president. I did not know that Obama read selected letters daily and wrote handwritten responses to many. I love his crinkly weird handwriting, too. If my husband were reading this post, he‘d tell me to get a room. 😂
This is a wonderful book and exactly what I needed right now. I‘ve always adored Obama, perhaps because as a 22 year old British person I haven‘t had a prime minister I liked and believed in in my lifetime, and for 8 years I was affected by Obama existing even if it wasn‘t in my country. I know he isn‘t perfect but I‘ve always found him so comforting and inspiring, and this book made me feel comforted and inspired when I needed it.
Political mess in the uk has got me down a bit so I wanted to read something with hope and heart, to make me feel like politics can connect with people and inspire them. Heard good things about this one
A snapshot into the hearts of America. Oh my goodness. I cried so much. Filled with real letters from real Americans with real joys, worries, sorrows, and more. It‘s hard not to be affected by it. || Read more at: http://onthebl.org/2018/10/12/to-obama/
Every day during his presidency, Barack Obama read ten letters that were addressed to him from average American citizens, and then responded with a personal note. This extraordinary book captures both those letters and the president's responses, and also describes the process of how the letters were chosen by White House staff. Fans of this book will also enjoy Ten Letters by Eli Saslow, but I liked this one a lot more.
I loved this book. Obama ended his days while president by reading ten letters sent to him by ordinary Americans. This book is about some of those letters and his responses and about the staffers who worked in the mailroom and selected the letters he read every night. I got teary a lot. The letters were often touching but I also kept reflecting on the kind of response the writers would receive from the current administration if read today.
“little by little, voice by voice, the mail could drive actual policy decisions.”
Just sitting here in tears reading To Obama. It's such a snapshot into the lives of every day Americans and their struggles and successes.
I really want to read this book!
"Every day, President Obama received ten thousand letters from constituents. Every night, he read ten of them before going to bed. This is the story of the profound ways in which they shaped his presidency."
