This #chunkstermini has been hanging out on my shelves since it came out in the mid 1980s. It shows its age a bit, and by the last section the twists became ridiculous. But it was a fun soap opera of a book and I‘m glad I read it. History. Romance. Characters with depth. If you love stories like Gone with the Wind you'll also love Karleen Koen's historical novels. I've read this book in my teens, 20s, 30s, and 40s. It gets richer with time as my own life experience deepens. One of my all time favorites!
