I loved this book!!! I borrowed it from my mom and stepdad. I loved the different stories in the book. I loved how it was put in order by each category. This is the fourth book that I have finished for #20in4 readathon!! I read this book in 2 hours and 15 minutes. So I have been reading for 13 hours and 28 minutes. I rated this book a 4 out of 5 stars!

I always enjoy reading fairy tales. This was filled with both new and some familiar stories. It was also filled with some tales of the supernatural. Some of the stories definitely gave me the chills. I love reading stories from different cultures. It helps to expand the knowledge throughout the world. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ #IrishFolkAbdFairyTales #WBYeats #book #books #bookbag #bookbinding #bookbeau #bookblog #FairyTales #Fiction #Ireland #IrishLiterature ❣️❣️

Finished my third book for Read O Rama.

It was OK. 134 pages total. Wanted to read something to learn more about my Irish heritage. Only enjoyed 4 stories and had to skim/skip the two longer ones. Interesting read but not one I enjoyed as much as I'd hoped. 2.5⭐

According to the Irish, a #Fairy isn‘t a sweet and innocent creature, but a mean spirit that tries to lure you into sin and damnation. I like the Disney version better 😅

A good collection with a variety of tales and songs, told in different styles and divided by type of creature or person encountered. I liked the ones that used Irish words in the telling, and the ones about ghosts were just the right amount of spooky.

Challenge | Day 02

Three days of challenge and I‘m already late!
I haven‘t read this whole book, but I always imagine beautiful landscapes that inspire freedom when I think of Ireland.

What I liked:
All the magical creatures like fairies and pookas
Some of the tales were quite funny

What I didn't like:
Way too focused on religion - I mean, does the MC always have to be a priest?

Leniverse In Irish tales? Doesn't surprise me. 😂 7y
Kalalalatja @Leniverse not me either, really. I just weren't prepared for how religious these tales would be 😂 7y
Redjewel_7734 That‘s what happens when it‘s monks who were often writing down the previously pagan myths. 7y
Kalalalatja @Redjewel_7734 ah, that makes sense! 7y

I have a lot of fairy tales and folklore from Britain on my shelves: some from my travels, some from classes in college (Celtic Myths & Legends for the win!); but I also had to include my book of South African folk tales—one for each of the country‘s official languages! 🇿🇦

I have a strong yearning for fantasy that is a) set in Ireland or at least Celtic-flavored and b) involves fairy, fae and/or witches. Could be YA or not YA. I don't have a lot of time for research right now, but I'm hoping the hive mind can make some suggestions?
