It had been a long time since I‘d read anything by this author, but I‘d forgotten how much I enjoyed her stories. This one kept me reading right up until the end (which was mildly sappy).

I wasn't eager to start this book, but then devoured it in two days! Excellent story that keeps you reading!
4.25 stars. This book held my attention from page 1. I've never met a Diane Chamberlain book I didn't like! TW: suicide
Book 29
The Silent Sister by Diane Chamberlain is an intriguing, easy-to-listen-to novel. Riley returns home after her father's death to empty out and sell his house and learns he kept familial secrets. The characters aren't equally fleshed-out, but most of them are worthy of compassion. The story's engaging but ephemeral. 3.75 ⭐️s
12-2-20: My 101st finished book of 2020! Riley, a middle school counselor, travels home to New Bern, NC to deal with her father‘s death and all that entails, including caring for her brother, an Iraq war veteran. She uncovers many secrets about her family and her past and the circumstances surrounding her sister‘s suicide 20 years before. What she learns will change her forever. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ #thesilentsister #dianechamberlain 👍🏼📖#️⃣1️⃣0️⃣1️⃣
Riley MacPherson has spent her entire life believing that her older sister Lisa committed suicide as a teenager. Now, over twenty years later, her father has passed away and she's in New Bern, North Carolina cleaning out his house when she finds evidence to the contrary. Lisa is alive
When you are reading a story based in your state and a chapter is set in your home town and the restaurant the author wrote about is where you ate at not to long ago
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 4.5 Stars
What happened to Riley‘s sister, Lisa, all those years ago? Did she kill herself? And why?
This one kept me up all last night until I finished, and I‘m not one to do that. I didn‘t want to stop. I personally found it predictable (I guessed what happened pretty much from the start), but that didn‘t spoil the book for me in the least bit.

It‘s a little rainy and windy today, courtesy of Hurricane Dorian. But it‘s not nearly as bad here as in other places. Hoping everyone along the coast is safe.
It‘s a good day to stay in and start a new book snuggled under my super soft blanket. I‘ve had this one for at least a year so it‘s probably time to give it a try.
I have read several of Diane Chamberlain's books. This is probably my least favorite. It was very slow at times, but the story was good, although a bit predictable. If you are interested in reading her books, I suggest Necessary Lies to begin with!
The first 100 pages during Book 1 are slow. You‘re wondering if things will pick up a bit. However once Book 2 starts, it changes perspective between two women and you‘re left with shocking moments and twists and turns. If you can get through the first 100 pages, you‘ll enjoy the rest.
Another good read from Diane Chamberlain. Easy read. I like the little bit of mystery in Diane Chamberlain books, good for testing out my predictions.
Although I figured it out a little more than halfway through, this book was addicting. It was my first Diane Chamberlain novel, and I immediately went out to buy another one. Has anyone read her book Necessary Lies?
“They‘d looked forward to the trial that would never happen now, because the seventeen-year-old girl—the seventeen-year-old murderer, most were sure—now rested somewhere beneath that rocky expanse of ice.” First page of the book, and I am HOOKED.
Another good read from Diane Chamberlain. This one was filled with twists and turns, some I saw coming and some I didn‘t. The characters are flawed and interesting and the book really flows well. I found it to be a real page turner and a well deserved 4 stars!
Wow! This got an 80% on Litsy? Unbelievable. As far as I'm concerned, this book is between a "So So" and a "Pan". In the end, "Silent Sister"is a big thumbs down. The pacing is slow, it's extremely predictable, and the so called twist is as weak as water. The only reason I kept on reading is because I wanted to see whether or not the protagonist would grow a spine and dump her a-hole for a boyfriend. That was the best part! ?

TODAY'S PROMPT: SILENT
I always enjoy Diane Chamberlain's books, and THE SILENT SISTER won't disappoint.
Have you read it or any of her books?

It was good. I kind of figured it out early on but it didn‘t prevent me from listening to it like a crazy person every time I was in the car. I decided to listen to it via Audible. Really well done.
Anyone else a big Diane Chamberlain fan? I've never not liked any of her books. Necessary Lies is my favorite. #chailatte
This was a pretty good mystery. I enjoyed the twists that the author threw in and the story was very entertaining. I felt like it was rushed in the end and left so many things open and confusing. But, overall, it was a fun book to read!
On our way to South Carolina to visit my stepson for the holiday. I️ hope I️ brought enough books! Happy thanksgiving all 😊
Just finished this book. Was really hard to put down. A little bit of a slow start and a little predictable towards the end. I still really enjoyed it.
Another great read from Diane Chamberlain. I couldn't put it down..had to keep reading to find out the truth about Riley's family!
Palm trees and a Diane Chamberlain book..yes, please! #missthisplace
This book was a tiny bit slow in part one (but obviously needed to set you up for part 2) but by the second part I was totally hooked! Amazing story of the never ending bond and love between a mother and daughter!
I really like this book. Good, pretty fast paced and a nice read.
Windows down and a good book in my hand 🌞 #roadtrippin #sunshinestateofmind
UP NEXT FOR ME!! A book recommendation from my mom and aunt, who both loved this and felt compelled to pass it on to me. I love when people recommend a book to me. I feel it gives you a little insight into their unspoken thoughts. Excited to start this and chat with mom & auntie about it when I'm through 💞
Once again this author does not disappoint. Another addictive book that I couldn't put down. I know some reviewers have said it was predictable and to a certain extend I agree but I think with this author in particular it's not about guessing the big parts, it's more about how all the small pieces fit together. I'd recommend this book highly.
Telling her would be like throwing a handful of dirt into a glass of clean water.
Really liked reading this book but the ending was " ehh" but still recommend for a quick page turner
The best part of my day. Reading my book, rocking my baby, sipping on coffee and watching the sun come up. #maternityleavemeansmoretimetoread
Lost some sleep last night since I couldn't put this down
