Into the Night | 
pickI read The Dark Lake by Sarah Bailey and really enjoyed it so I had to read this ASAP!
The writing style was the same good standard again. The book was easy to read and had a good plot. It took some time to get in to the story but it was not dull in any way. I found that I was getting through the book really quickly and read it in two sittings.
It‘s not because the book is bad in anyway but it is just missing something.
3.5 stars!

pickThis is so good! The second book in the Gemma Woodstock series, and it‘s as dark as the first one. If you like police procedural, you‘ll probably like this. Set in Melbourne, and it follows the murder of a homeless man and a budding international star. Gemma is struggling with her move to the big city, leaving her failed relationship and her son behind to concentrate on her career. I really like the flawed Gemma Woodstock.

pickGemma Woodstock has moved to Melbourne and faces a case of a dead celebrity and two other cases that need to be resolved as well. I really liked The Dark Lake and enjoyed this second outing as well. Gemma feels real and is a complicated person who I hope to spend more time with in future books.

pickI thoroughly enjoyed this darker sequel. Det. Woodstock left her ex and young son behind in their small town to join the force in Melbourne. She has trouble committing to a new partner & copes w/ one night stands. Thrust onto a new case after a actor‘s death, she has to pull herself together.
Readers of police procedurals & fans of Cormoran Striker would like the slow style as clues are uncovered parallel to the happenings of Gemma's life.
pickPre-ordered from Australia, I was super-pumped for this follow-up to The Dark Lake! And it‘s a string sequel, shifting the series to Melbourne. Gemma keeps her bit of an anti-hero edge with her behavior and the book is fast-paced. Parts of the plot are pretty predictable but there are a few surprises too! Can‘t wait to see what happens in the third book!!
