Owlcrate book.

I enjoyed this. It has some faults typical of a YA fantasy, namely that character development sometimes seems sped up in order to move the plot forward. However, the world building is nice and the start of the book is slow in order to establish character and setting. It‘s from an independent publisher so I know this isn‘t always possible but a map would have been handy. I look forward to reading the second book when it comes out.

No snow day for me but I worked from home today. There‘s now a huge snowbank blocking my driveway, at least 6ft tall, but our water is working again 👍🏼 Now to finish this book while I have some homemade New York-style pizza 😋

Joining #LitsyPartyofOne to read this. I‘ve been craving an adventure fantasy so we‘ll see how this goes and if I‘m not feeling it, I have some poetry and book club books on hand.

I‘ve tried but I just can‘t seem to get into this. Story isn‘t sticking with me, so I‘m gonna bail

I‘ve been reading the different posts about this and how people thought it was bad. I didn‘t think it was too bad. I did wonder what the point of the story could be, there seemed to be a lot of things happening without purpose and I didn‘t really care about the characters. I don‘t know if I would pick up a book two. I feel like this was stretched out for a possible trilogy but I think with some work it could be a stand alone book.

⭐️⭐️ / Boy oh boy I am glad I finished this book. It was a real struggle.

💔The characters are so flat.
💔A bunch of scenes end with characters passing out. That‘s just sloppy.
💔 There were potential plot points in a plague, racism, or an underground rebellion, but the author chose to run with a super uninteresting love story? NO WHY STOP.
💔 Too much telling, not enough showing.
❤️ I mean, the cover is pretty so it has that going for it?

Trying, trying, trying to finish this book. I‘ve got the readin‘ blues, where I wanna love this but I. Just. Don‘t.

✨This book made me so, so angry and annoyed. I definitely don't have enough characters to express all my problems with it.. Basically, the scenes moved so fast it was hard to tell what was going on or even feel anything towards the MCs. It took me a MONTH to read this book.. Mostly because I just could not get into it. It also had a ton of spelling and grammar issues. Some sentences even had 2-3 words left out. Overall, just a horrid book. 🙈🤷

✨I'm having a really.. really.. really hard time getting into this book.... Alot of stuff just doesn't make sense.. The scenes move way too fast, I'm not sure if the author even knew what she was talking about at times. 🙈 I hate to DNF (I have a GoodReads goal to make😂), but this one might end up that way.🤷😫

I would rate it 🤘🏼 normally. But I‘m so annoyed right now I feel like 👎🏼. But that seems unfair because the rest of it was GOOD. Basically I need a 🖕🏼 rating.

It makes me crazy when I find typos in my books. Usually it‘s my $0.99 kindle books, but I‘ve found three in this printed version and it has made me grumpy. Also why do fantasy books always have such hard to pronounce names?

✨I finished Sky in the Deep yesterday, along with Ace of Shades a few days ago. I'm hoping to post some reviews tomorrow.

This is book number 34 of my year and I gotta say I am looking forward to the adventure of it. This is a book I received with my #Owlcrate box subscription for #May also this month they included TWO books from two different authors so I am extremely happy that I ordered this box. I was also hangry today so much grumpy so excuse me while I fix that 🤷🏻‍♀️😆💜
