Dark Water
Dark Water: A Totally Gripping Thriller with a Killer Twist | Robert Bryndza
21 posts | 27 read | 15 to read
Beneath the water the body sank rapidly. Above her on dry land, the nightmare was just beginning. When Detective Erika Foster receives a tip-off that key evidence for a major narcotics case was stashed in a disused quarry on the outskirts of London, she orders for it to be searched. From the thick sludge the drugs are recovered, but so is the skeleton of a young child. The remains are quickly identified as seven-year-old Jessica Collins. The missing girl who made headline news twenty-six years ago. As Erika tries to piece together new evidence with the old, she must dig deeper and find out more about the fractured Collins family and the original detective, Amanda Baker. A woman plagued by her failure to find Jessica. Erika soon realises this is going to be one of the most complex and demanding cases she has ever taken on. Is the suspect someone close to home? Someone is keeping secrets. Someone who doesn't want this case solved. And they'll do anything to stop Erika from finding the truth. From the million-copy bestselling author of The Girl in the Ice and The Night Stalker, comes the third heart-stopping book in the Detective Erika Foster series. Watch out for more from DCI Erika Foster. She's fearless. Respected. Unstoppable. Detective Erika Foster will catch a killer, whatever it takes. 1. THE GIRL IN THE ICE 2. THE NIGHT STALKER 3. DARK WATER Read what everyone is saying about Dark Water: 'OH MY GOD! Just let me a take a moment while I catch my breath! I LOVED IT! WHAT A BOOK! WHAT AN AUTHOR! WHAT A READ! It is all consuming, there is no let up... every twist and turn is designed to make you gasp, to make your head spin and your heart beat out of your chest.' Emma the Little Bookworm 'HOLY MOLY Robert Bryndza has only gone and done it again... it's one of those books you can't bear to put down, as each chapter ends you just "have to read one more" and before you know it it's the middle of the night! Unsettling and disturbing, the actions of the all too human characters lead to a devastating and tense climax. I can and will wholeheartedly recommend Dark Waters for anyone looking for an original crime story but with all the hallmarks of a truly thrilling tale.' Book Review CafE 'The characterisation in this story is incredible. There are so many well developed characters and this makes the story so much stronger. It is a compelling read which once you start you won't want to put down!' Tea Chocolate and a Book

Another good read in the Erika Foster series. A girl who‘s been missing for ages is found - murdered. Erika is on it, but her own life is turned up side down in many ways. Good plot, great character development. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ #serieslove2023

Andrew65 Another of the many good series out there. Well done 👏👏👏 2y

𝐑𝐨𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐭 𝐁𝐫𝐲𝐧𝐝𝐳𝐚's Detective Erika Foster series is engrossing & intriguing. The 3rd installment, 𝐃𝐚𝐫𝐤 𝗪𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫, can be read as a stand-alone. Erika struggles emotionally as she investigates a very cold case. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⁣⁣

Good morning Littens,

There is a beautiful sunrise over the estuary this morning (photo doesn't do it justice) as I start my commute to work. I love getting the train because I can read! This book is goood...so many twists and turns in this cold case detective mystery.

Have a great day everyone 😁

Andrew65 What a great view to have! 😊 6y
julesG Enjoy your book! Train reading is so relaxing. Nearly missed my stop yesterday when I read on the bus. I was so engrossed in my book, I only noticed where we were when the lady next to me got up and bumped her bag into my book. Glad she did. I would have been late for an appointment otherwise. 6y
JaneyWaneyB @julesG I know what you mean I often forget that I need to get off the train when I'm reading. A bit weird but one of my favourite places to read. Have a good day 6y

Heideschrampf @JaneyWaneyB very much! I ended up reevaluating how fortunate i was seeing both live giraffes and a medieval castle on my commute to work today! 6y

This is such a wonderful series, and I especially love the narrator of the audiobooks! Each installment feels like meeting back up with old friends...and, you know, trying to solve a new murder. This one proved particularly difficult for DCI Foster and I loved going along for all the twists and turns. I never would have been able to guess the outcome. My favorite installment yet! 🌟🌟🌟🌟 1/2

The twists here are well thought out and there are plenty diversionary tactics used to keep the reader on their toes. When all was revealed, I was totally gut punched. The truth is heartbreaking and emotional in a way that knocked me off of my feet. I must stop there before I go and reveal major plot points, but this one was a winner and one that I feel will stay with me for quite some time.

Was approved for this last night and knew that if I started it then I wouldn't have put it down all night! Starting it today with a puppy attacking me and trying to eat my hair and ears, not like that's going to put me off reading this book though!! 🐶📖 #NetGalley #RobertBryndza

Heatherfeather Gah! Had no idea a 3rd was on the way! Exxxxcellent 8y
Bookish_Predator @Heatherfeather was put on last night through #bookouture and I HAD to get it! 33% through so far and am loving it! ☺️ 8y

Having just finished this I can honestly say this is the best in the series yet. Well and truly gripping that had both my heart and pulse racing. Highly recommended.
