My brother got me this book for Christmas and I‘m so excited to start it!
Nothing remotely hopeful about this book haha. That being said I loved the concept and it‘s a very fast paced, suspenseful apocalyptic novel. I wish we were told more about the creatures but I‘m sure that will come in later books. This is similar to Game of Thrones in the sense that you don‘t want to get attached to anyone. They probably won‘t make it. This can be read as a stand alone, but I‘m curious to see what happens next in this world.
I just wanted to say that RC Bray is a great narrator, and he really brings that extra umph to this story. I have a feeling if I was reading this story, I wouldn't like it as much. Only because my brain would be so stuck on the chaos that I would miss out on the subtle emotions of the characters at certain times.
This was an exciting adventure into post WWIII Earth! The last humans live on airships that circle the Earth, and a group of “hell divers” jump off the ship to scavenge from what‘s left of Earth.
I dislike summer colds! Going to lay in bed with tissues and drugs. Hopefully I‘ll finish this book!
I started this SF/PA book earlier this week and my goal is to finish it off this weekend:
Earth has been salted with radioactivity after a global war. The only survivors are onboard 2 airships that send divers onto the surface to salvage supplies. But resources on the airships are right running very thin, cancer and flu are constant threats, and mutants have evolved on the wasteland...
Great start— So let‘s see where this goes!
Just getting into Hell Divers, not bad so far. Dystopian scifi; dystopian isn't usually my bag but this has been good.
I enjoyed reading/listening to The Girl Who Drank the Moon, but I thought the ending was too rushed. And I‘m currently obsessed with Hell Divers. I finished the first book in the series and immediately read the second book and now I‘m impatiently waiting for the third audiobook in the series. I‘ve already preordered it and can‘t wait to get it this month.
Thanks @Amy-Laura for hosting the #Bankholidaygiveaway!
Great story, enjoyed the diverse characters. That ending, though. Made me mad!
I think this would make a great video game, I think I would even play it.
Why does it not surprise me that Hades is Chicago? 😂 I had a hunch and once it was confirmed I chuckled. I was born and raised in Chicago so it was kind of funny to me.
Starting this #audiobook! It‘ll be a great listen while working out. I have decided to go back to my #Fitbit wearing and tracking days. So here I go! If anyone would like to become Fitbit buddies add me as your friend 🙂 the more the merrier http:////www.fitbit.com/user/3CR7RG #audioexercising 💪🏽 🏃🏽♀️
I started listening to this one about a week ago. It is not my typical genre that I read (it was a daily deal on Audible that I bought a while back), so it has taken me a LONG time to get through it. #powerthrough #audio #listenup
Today's Audible daily deal looked too good to pass up.
I may be failing miserably at my 'buy less books' resolution, but I'm going to call it a win that I have *only* purchased 3 daily deals this week. 😳
Plus two books in the 2-for-1 sale... but that's a sale so it doesn't count. 😂😂😂
My post-apocalyptic readers have another series to follow. They already love Laybourne's Monument 14 and Higson's Enemy series, and Hell Divers is an action filled first book I think they'll enjoy. Monsters weren't nearly as intense as Higson's Enemy series, but I could see that changing in future installments. No doubt that would thrill my post-apocalyptic readers while giving me nightmares at the same time. 🐓😳🙈
Post-apocalyptic books are huge amongst my readers. Saw the promos for this book and pre-ordered for my post-apocalyptic fans. After first 30 pages, I'm enjoying my first Sansbury Smith book. I need to admit though, I'm a big 🐓, so I'm hoping the monster aspect of this book isn't too intense!
