I didn‘t like the message of this book. I have no problem reading a book about terrible people who never get redeemed. I just feel like this isn‘t the message of this book. The message I got from this book is that we are supposed to be sympathetic with people who are “victims” of the call out culture online. Nope I am more sympathetic with people who are hurt by micro aggressions and racism online. Really disappointed as I usually love her books.
Soaking in the bathtub being risky and reading this book on my iPhone which I normally don‘t do but I am not currently reading any print books. My dog knocked me over last night and I fell pretty hard and jarred my whole body. It aches and hurts so hoping to soak away some of this pain.
This was between a pick / so-so for. I changed my mind every few pages, but I started off HATING the main character and didn‘t think she was redeemable. 3/4‘s of the way through I felt like I was finally understanding the purpose of the book. But I also couldn‘t put the book down all weekend, so it‘s not like everything up to there was terrible. There are important life lessons for teens and adults in these pages, but also ignorant thoughts, too.
Another galley that just arrived this week, and I‘m actually reading it right away! Usually they sit on my shelf forever.
