Oh, I can SO relate! (From a slightly different cause - I have chronic shoulder pain which, pre- bedtime meds, would unfailingly wake me up at 2 AM. Ugh. )

I‘m thoroughly enjoying this witty, super helpful guide to help keep your life stable while dealing with a mood disorder. In graphic novel format!
She has bipolar disorder, but I can see where it would be super helpful for those with anxiety, depression, SAD. In addition to doctors, therapy and meds, of course. I‘m buying a copy for work.
Such a great book with gentle, non-judgmental, inspiring advice and coping strategies for dealing with mental illness. Forney has bipolar so that's the focus of the book, but as someone with anxiety and a bit of depression, I still found a lot of the tips applicable and helpful. Her writing is down-to-earth and funny and her illustrations are cute and emotionally spot-on. I borrowed this from the library, but it's definitely one I will be buying!
I asked my psychiatrist to put me on lithium and she said- “ No I don‘t want to make you sicker!!”
I see why now. She increased what she could of what I am already on and it‘s helping a little. I‘m still very rattled from the events of the past month or so. Wednesday I‘m supposed to get the fluid drained from my knee but it‘s going to be -13 degrees!! I guess that has to be moved back. Good grief... 🤦🏽♀️😞😞
While Marbles walks you through the author‘s diagnosis, medication stabilization, management, & coping, Rock Steady is an easy read that brings coping strategies into one place in a unique format and by an author who knows what she‘s talking about from personal experience, which I think could make all the difference. Evidence there is life and a path to clear thinking and self care beyond a #Bipolar diagnosis.

My life has been a huge horrible mess since exactly December 18th for reasons that involve my boyfriend that I am still in denial about and too upset to discuss. Anywhoo, this is what I SHOULD be reading, lol. But I‘ll probably cry myself to sleep again. While listening to sad love songs and other very self destructive behavior. Anywhoo, I miss you guys and I promise I‘ll catch up on your posts later. Love you all!!
@Trashcanman I know I said I would read this about a month or so ago sorry. Lately, especially today my brain is on overdrive but my body is totally exhausted especially after having an exhaustIng girl‘s day out yesterday. I am deciding to read this book finally instead of scrolling Instagram under my covers, lol.
Came into the bedroom expecting to find @BookishMarginalia reading tagged book. Instead I found her giving #BonBonCat some love. ❤️😻❤️ #CatsOfLitsy
Reading this, considering buying for my sister who is currently struggling with her bipolar diagnosis and not fully giving in to the care that she needs. Also looking into the author‘s previous book for care tips.
Really an excellent guide and self help book for everyone, in many ways, but esp to those with mood disorders. I was hoping this would be more about her experiences with mood disorder, but I found this to be really easy to read, with some great advice. I will definitely seek out her previous book (which was what I thought this was!)about bipolar and probably several of her others. I love her easy going approach!!
Recommended.....great!!
Next up: I really liked her first book. I know I will love this one too!! ( it‘s also a library book though 😼) I am going to hold on to it as long as I can. @Trashcanman you might want to check this out too. It‘s highly recommended by someone who I know is really struggling. Her first book - Marbles is a gem too. Just a suggestion, sorry 😐
Hoping this is as funny and....well, brilliant....as it seems. Looking forward to this....
This is her follow-up to the graphic novel “Marbles” about being bipolar. It can really apply to anyone with mental illness. It goes over getting help, meds, self-care, the stigma and more. This is especially awesome for people who are just learning about it or need a refresher. #KateSpade
#Pridemonth I‘m marking everything that‘s related to 🏳️🌈 or that has an author who is.
