Audio books are the best when I'm painting 😜
I really enjoyed this book. This is the follow up to Relic and its creepier in numerous ways. The main one being that a lot of it takes place in the abandoned subway tunnels under New York which gives the book a claustrophobic feel. Also creepy monsters, bodies showing up headless and the mole people (people who choose to live underground) 🐊

Another great book from the Pendergast series! If you like Jurassic Park type books, you‘ll love this one. Just make sure you pick up Relic first. You would be lost without knowing what happened in the first one.
Book 3 for 2019! The sequel to Relic!
I felt sick earlier today, so while reading I also took a lot of naps. I think I‘ll be up for awhile, so I might as well get started on this one!

This was a decent follow up to Relic. Good, but not great. I think 100 pages could have been culled without losing much in the way of story and the book suffered for the lulls in action. However, I like the writing style of the Preston/Child team and I love Pendergast. The cast of characters here was very interesting and I will be continuing with the series. #50 done for #MountTBR and this finishes the 2018 Modern Mrs Darcy challenge for me, too.
4 flights in 36 hours, to and from Austin. Finished the book in record time lol
I‘m looking forward to seeing some old characters I enjoyed in Relic. Subterranean NYC FTW.
I really like how this author uses different points of view from different characters throughout to build suspense. The museum storyline that these first two books focused on was awesome! Can't wait to read more Pendergast.
Does anybody else speed their audiobook up when they get to a really good part? It's like I get impatient waiting for the narrator.
I read fairly slowly, so I probably won't get through more than 1 1/2-2 books this weekend, even if I do nothing but read, but I have narrowed down my choices for #slaythatseriesreadathon to these four in-progress series, which should check off a slot or two on Mount TBR, even if they don't meet any other challenges.
I'm in a bit of a book slump, Littens! 😭 Absolutely nothing I try to read is catching my fancy, and it's not for lack of trying! I'm not going to beat myself up about it, but I do hate being in a reading slump when I have library books checked out! Luckily @SerialReader is helping me read at least *something* once a day! Here's hoping I find the slump buster book soon! 🍾📚
So as of 1/1, my library moved over to a self-serve holds system. I kind of have mixed feelings, since I've always prided myself on my excellent taste. At my last library, one of the aides mentioned that she took out every book after I returned them because I read "the best books" ? But I do love being able to buzz in and out so quickly!
This is one of my favorite book stores. This is Taylor Books in my hometown Charleston, WV.Its cozy, has a nice cafe and decent musical performances.Book signings aren't that often but they are usually pretty good ones.Hope to visit the store again when I go back home next year.#getindie
