Has anyone read this one? I just got it from the library and it doesn't have the best reviews on Goodreads... Not sure I should bother..

Eeeeeeh... definitely not my kind of historical fiction ( I mean it really isn't historical. Just very vaguely). The time period had potential but it went totally untouched 😭

Just started this one... finding the 2nd person POV interesting. I was intrigued how a book set in the Ice Age would read. So far, it's interesting.

4/5 stars. I liked the time period setting and found it unique and loved all that Julie did with it (prehistoric--the clan rivalry, the storytelling, the family roles, etc.) but I did NOT like the second person POV writing. Just not my thing. To me it slows the action down. Overall a really good read though!

What a great way to get out of my reading slump 😍

On a reread I enjoyed it a little bit more I think. The book is very plot driven and I enjoyed the story line. Kol was an easy narrator to get behind, Mya though not very fleshed out was a cute relationship even though she's perpetually angry. Lo was a decent villain with her twisted motives. I wish there had been a bit more but I enjoyed it!

I wouldn't go into this one expecting Clan of the Cave Bear or Pride and Prejudice. I think it only fair to read this as a unique tale. That being said, I was fully immersed and devoured this book despite mixed and mediocre reviews that I've seen out there.

Note: I ignored the modernization of the characters' speech and actions because it didn't feel true to the prehistory setting. Also, the 2nd person POV felt odd at first, but I got used to it.

Good book, I enjoyed it, but it wasn't anything to write home about...but that cover though...absolutely stunning!!

Um. I don't know. The setting was really fascinating to me, but the characters didn't really hold any interest for me.

A quick and easy read, prehistoric romance. Pretty cool.

I didn't realize this was 2nd person. And in audio too. ? My first instinct is to yell "you don't know me!" I don't generally enjoy 2nd person. But I am going to try.

I read through most of this in one sitting and liked it overall. It did lose some momentum at the end. Honestly, I forgot this was a P&P adaptation while reading. I think YA adventure/romance readers will enjoy this more than Janeites.

This just didn't work for me. It was a weird mix of 1st person present with 2nd person sprinkled throughout. Kol addressed his love interest as "you" and it really threw me off. The Neolithic Era setting, while intriguing, didn't come off well (simplistic-ish thinking but proper dialogue).

The biggest compliment I can give this story was that it was a retelling of P&P set in the time of ivory-tusked mammoths and nomadic clans dressed in seal-skin parkas, and it WORKED. Still, the parallels were a little TOO obvious at times, and it dragged on just a little too long near the end. ★★★☆☆

This is a bit slow moving, but still interesting. I haven't read anything set in a prehistoric for a long time and those details were intriguing. I could have used a better romantic pay off, but still consider this one a good pick if you're looking for something offbeat

This one was so-so for me. Didn't hate it, but found it too romancy and would have liked more historical accuracy - more Clan of the Cave Bears and less Pride and Prejudice. I appreciate the concept - execution could have been better

This was last week's Epic FIRST5. Didn't have time to read, but think it will be another hit for me.

Got some ARC's in the mail at work today - looking forward to Ivory and Bone the most! It's been said that it is a Clan of the Cave Bears meets Pride and Prejudice mash up - sounds great to me!!

Ugh. This one had me so excited and I was so let down. It's extremely slow, a lot weird, and nothing even happens until over halfway through the book. I was bored with this one and wish I had just set it aside for something else.

Just started this ice age fantasy. It begins with a mammoth hunt, so I'm pretty entertained thus far!
